You expected a team with Melo and Amare both playing at least 47 out of 66 games to only be a 7th seed in the East?

Pretty much. With that coach I've been bytching about since his hire, yeah.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
I know I've stated this before, but when Mike Gorman, long time play by play man for the Celtics (an avid basketball fan who loves many a non Celtic player) HATES your game so much that he can hardly stop himself from talking shyt about you on every possession you touch the ball, you know you must be a selfish basketball player.

Mike Gorman cannot stand Carmelo, so neither can I.

I'm Mike Gormans' Super PAC, and I approve this message.

True spills,
My man Mike hardly shyts on anybody. Carmello is a fukking bum.

This is true too. Dude is just making excuses now. Sounds pretty pathetic if you ask me.

"We weren't supposed to win." :to:

That's because Melo isn't one to carry a team.

I agree with most of what you're saying and I believe Melo can still carry a team when he wisens up and adjusts his game. The same thing happened to Nique later in his career but he switched up his game too late because the pieces in Atlanta had already been moved for the most part. The Nique\Carmelo comparison is spot on.

I also think the biggest mistake that NY made was thinking that Amare would be an anchor\franchise piece for their organization. Every one in D'Antoni's system in Pheonix looked better than they actually were, and too top it off, Amare's knees were already suspect.

With that being said, the Woodson needs to make sure that Amare gets the bulk of the touches because quite frankly, if Amare aint scoring, he's borderline useless because he is not going to contribute in any other aspect. No Boards, No D, Nothing

My guess for a while now is Amare will be phased out of the Knicks offense and they're going to do whatever they can to trade him.

With the commitment to Mike Woodson, the offense will most likely revolve around Carmelo and JR Smith similar to Atlanta with Joe Johnson and Josh Smith. It's a disaster waiting to happen imo, but the Knicks did do a good job of bringing in depth on defense, so we'll see. When those two guys are on, the Knicks will look good. When they're off, they wont. Building around two inefficient high volume outside players I dont understand. The confidence this franchise is showing in JR is puzzling.

I mean, Mike is the type to just keep his mouth shut on a player, he is not one to go negative and he is easy with the praise when an opposing player catches fire, which is what makes me crack up laughing at the shyt he says about 'Melo.

It's so out of the ordinary for him. :heh:

He was the same way with A.I. as well, if I recall correctly.

:mindblown: I'm surprised I made it thru 5 pages of this dumb thread. Where is it even coming from?? Knicks season been done since May. Carmelo is in the Olympics balling like a mufukka and I think he's leading team USA in scoring. So again I ask, where is this thread coming from?? I come to this site and went to Sohh for pretty much the Knicks thread. While some of the regular Knick fans are idiots, NEVER have I seen one say Melo was on Bron's level. Never have I read someone say Melo is leading us to a chip. FACT: Melo is the best player we had in NY since Pat Ewing. FACT: After being spoiled with reg season and playoff success from the late 80's throughout the 90's, Knick fans suffered the the entire 1st decade of the new millenia with crap players, crap management, and crap coaches, and loss after loss. Pardon us, we arent fans of the Clippers or Hawks....we are not used to that shyt. So when we get players like Stat and Melo, flawed tho they may be, we gonna get excited about the possibilites. A PF that can dunk? On somebody?? When the last time we had that shyt b4 2010? A SF that can score? From anywhere?? Aint had that since Bernard. So some fans may be more excited than usual, BUT NO ONE has anointed Melo anything. And to the idiots pretending we didnt go up against the Celtics with "Carmelo Anthony and some guys" as Marv Albert put it, just stop. Stat and Billups didnt even play. This year we went up against MIA without the starting backcourt (Shump & Lin. Dam right Davis was role player status, but when he even went down that left us with 1 PG.), and had Stat playing w/ 1 hand in the games he did play. It should also be noted that in the beginning of the season Toney Douglas shot to shyt, stomped, and pissed on the theory that the Dantoni system can inflate anyones numbers. You have to actually have game.

I didn't realize Carmelo was ever supposed to win an MVP.

:what:

are you guys tryna shyt on Melo or call into question the importance of the scoring title?

Neither, just food for thought. I think most people would say Melo is a better scorer than Lebron or Wade, but the numbers don't really back it up.

Ask yourselves this....could Carmelo average 30 PPG if he wanted to?

Dumb question, are you saying the ONLY reason he hasn't scored 30 ppg is because he just didn't want to?
:what:
