Why you always bringing up DC :hhh:

I see what your doing, though you not consistent and do it both ways (as with how you been suspiciously missing last week).:sas2:

I see you.

But to entertain you:troll:

So Amazon been mentioned in here....
Hulu been mentioned in here...
D+ is coming and it was mentioned some weeks back that WB is going to be creating their own Streaming service and who does WB own?

giphy.gif

Look man, not everything is a shot, jab or a diss. Not even sure what you found wrong with the comment?

You gotta relax..... like how you was last week :sas1:

Maybe it's what Netflix is serving up to me, but my home page above the fold is this:
  • Mindhunter (tried S1 and it was dry to me)
  • 13 Reasons Why :scust: Same
  • Otherhood - tried... can't relate
  • Tiffany Haddish special - nope
  • Jane the Virgin - nope
  • Glow - nope
  • Murder Mystery - nope
  • Money Heist - nope
  • Diagnosis - nope
  • Always be my Maybe - nope
  • Pose - nope
  • Designated Survivor - Nope
  • Etc., etc.

Here's the shyt I've liked from them in the last year or two:
  • Black Mirror (caught up)
  • Easy (caught up)
  • That Aziz show...forget the name (caught up)
  • Friends from College (Caught up)
  • Dear White People (kind of...caught up)
  • She's Gotta Have It "
  • Ozark
  • Narcos
  • Big Mouth
  • That mini-series where the person goes on a series of dates with different people
Otherwise Netflix serves up a bunch of broadcast TV series that I'm not interested in.

What am I missing? I like hard hitting dramas, thrillers (tapped out on sci-fi thrillers), and shows about people that look like me or live a life resembling mine (20s and 30s folks in urban settings).
And even then...Black Mirror fell off a cliff, they ended up cancelling an interesting show in Easy, Dear White People slumped, and She's Gotta Have It is over.

Mindhunter is the only great drama on Netflix right now to me and let's be honest, shyt should've been on HBO :to:

I'll never understand people who stan Netflix these days.

I plan on watching it tonight.

I saw S1, thought it was straight but I wasn’t all like “OMG this is incredible”:krs:

Maybe S2 better, but I don’t know

Sounds like you're a casual then. I've said it before but their selection of foreign shows is pretty good. I just binged 3 new shows from Netflix last week

Have no idea what your intrests are but there's always something on netflix for me to watch.

try money heist..
i started the good place
always be my maybe was pretty cool
mr iglesias

Here's my thing. I have 3 modes of TV watching and my standards for storytelling in movies are too high for what Netflix puts out (usually predictable)

My three modes of (non-sports) TV watching are:
1. Dialed the fukk in - I'm watching, paying attention, and talking with friends about what I watch almost immediately after - next day, whatever. HBO owns this pattern of viewing for me almost exclusively over the last year or so between GoT, Euphoria, Succession, Insecure
2. Background - I'm doing some light work and need something light that has some fukkery that I can look up and laugh at. Broadcast TV owns this with reality TV
3. High - I want what I'm watching to have the ability to possibly stretch my mind. HBO's owned this recently as well.

Netflix used to have some shows that hit on all 3, but now I don't think they have any that really do that for me. I can't get into the foreign shows because the level of focus required given captions demands that it's that top tier quality for Mode 1.

Netflix seems to try to do number 1 with a bunch of sci-fi, futuristic, or alternate universe kind of shows. These shows are boring me and their approach to storytelling through the season is predictable and repetitive to me. Unknown, mystery big bad with a major twist in E6 or 7 and cliffs going into the 2nd season. It's like Heroes pacing rinse and repeat. I'm bored by it.

I don't fukk with foreign dramas because I can't relate and the cultural nuances are lost on me - no bias against foreign content in and of itself...it just doesn't do it for me.

I would. Physical sales have declined dramatically. People have been trained to binge watch their beloved shows on streaming services, instead of switching out discs every few episodes. When viewers used to binging The Office or Friends on Netflix every night see those shows are gone from Netflix, I don't see them hitting up amazon to buy the boxsets. They are going to go over to whatever streaming service has it.
A one time purchase vs. a new ongoing bill to watch a couple of shows makes no sense. People are dropping cable because they don't feel like paying cable prices for a bunch of stuff they don't watch. Why would they start stockpiling stteaming services that would eventually make the reasoning for having cut cable pointless? I'm aware that for all current streaming services, the most viewed content is licensed programs from other channels, but worthwhile original programming creates an incentive to keep those services. The licensed programs are convenient fall backs when people don't feel like or can't find anything new to watch.

I hear you but you're being overly harsh. These other big networks only have 2-4 shows worth watching their damn selves. If you have Netflix under a microscope like this then I wonder how you feel about HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, AMC, USA, FX, Amazon, Hulu, ABC, etc.

What surprises me about all this is that I assumed most people (like me) already owned almost every Disney movie and had no real need for streaming the bulk of their content.

Go figure...

Godless shouldn't have been a limited series. We need more western shows. :francis:
