Why do all of yall want Netflix to die so bad? :mindblown:
Yall really want one or 2 companies putting out and controlling all the content?

No one wants Netflix to die.

See what happens sometimes is someone makes a spicy statement like that..... that no one says.... and it sticks and becomes a narrative.

Before there was talks of a fukking D+, cats been saying Netflix is either A)running out of content or B) needs better.

I don’t want Netflix to die and don’t really see myself close to cancelling it but even when I scroll through it I’m like :francis:

Netflix themselves said they ain’t afraid of D+ or anything else.

The only thing that scares them is Fortnite, Apex, and other gaming platforms. That’s probably the thing that actually could kill them.......

Between 60 and 90 million subs by 2024 is a pretty wide range.. but if it's close to the 90 number that would be very good. Still don't see it as a "Netflix killer" I really don't know why anyone would say that... Netflix has 152 million subs right now.

Netflix gonna be around, they'd have to really fukk up to not be the leader for a long time.
It's a huge disconnect from reality. People are hard pressed to get rid of something they're familiar and comfortable with just because something new came out. Plus, this isn't like phones or video game consoles where you're shelling out hundreds of dollars thus making owning multiple different brands not very feasible. Disney+ will most likely contribute to cable taking yet another hit like it has been for years now. It takes a special kind of delusion to think this service will stay at this price, btw.

Netflix and Amazon Video will be fine. Netflix because of it's established userbase and content, and Amazon because it comes included with quite possibly the most popular service around (Amazon Prime has 100 million subscribers). Outside of Disney+ these other services are probably gonna be dead in the water. I already have HBOGo, don't see the point in getting Warner's service. I wouldn't be surprised to see DVD/Blu Ray season boxset sales go up as certain shows(Friends, The Office) become exclusive to certain streaming services.

Disney is definitely a Netflix killer because they have Hulu on deck, along with all the premium networks like ESPN. Disney streaming is basically the demi god of the cut cable brehs movement.

Till the cable companies raise the internet prices. ...:francis:

This is a lie

If you can go away for life you’re not out on bail.

:manny:

Maybe it's what Netflix is serving up to me, but my home page above the fold is this:
  • Mindhunter (tried S1 and it was dry to me)
  • 13 Reasons Why :scust: Same
  • Otherhood - tried... can't relate
  • Tiffany Haddish special - nope
  • Jane the Virgin - nope
  • Glow - nope
  • Murder Mystery - nope
  • Money Heist - nope
  • Diagnosis - nope
  • Always be my Maybe - nope
  • Pose - nope
  • Designated Survivor - Nope
  • Etc., etc.

Here's the shyt I've liked from them in the last year or two:
  • Black Mirror (caught up)
  • Easy (caught up)
  • That Aziz show...forget the name (caught up)
  • Friends from College (Caught up)
  • Dear White People (kind of...caught up)
  • She's Gotta Have It "
  • Ozark
  • Narcos
  • Big Mouth
  • That mini-series where the person goes on a series of dates with different people
Otherwise Netflix serves up a bunch of broadcast TV series that I'm not interested in.

What am I missing? I like hard hitting dramas, thrillers (tapped out on sci-fi thrillers), and shows about people that look like me or live a life resembling mine (20s and 30s folks in urban settings).

try money heist..

I would. Physical sales have declined dramatically. People have been trained to binge watch their beloved shows on streaming services, instead of switching out discs every few episodes. When viewers used to binging The Office or Friends on Netflix every night see those shows are gone from Netflix, I don't see them hitting up amazon to buy the boxsets. They are going to go over to whatever streaming service has it.

exactly
Netflix is the only company that’s gonna give chappelle $20Ms a special. They gave Eddie 70 and they gave Chris rock 60. That’s hundreds of millions between 3 guys (legends). :wow: Any other studio is taking that money and making something that’s just popular right now. Not to mention the Scorsese joint
Netflix shows love to creators that they like. that’s more valuable than what anyone else does
and they still have a solid back catalogue of lowkey movies and good shows. And good original shows too

These disney stans :hhh:

Na.....:dwillhuh:

We not doing that.

Just like when WB gets their shyt together, pull all their shyt off NF and lumps the DC app in their platform.

Again...... no one in here says they want Netflix die.

Let’s end that false narrative now please

Have no idea what your intrests are but there's always something on netflix for me to watch.
The documentary plus stand up keep me going...then they periodically drop something like Mindhunter or Stranger things and Im satisfied:manny: disney plus is just another good service, plus for 119 bucks for 3 years its also worth it to me.

my Netflix backlog is so long it for sure runs into 2020
to say there's nothing on Netflix are you guys really firing up Netflix everyday and watching everything when it releases?
Netflix is dying but every month something releases on Netflix that goes viral whether its Haunting on Hill House, Beyonce, Bird Box, Chappelle, Dark, Stranger Things, etc
But forget about the high end stuff like Mindhunter and The Irishman, does no one just watch the B-movie sci-fi / horror/ comedy movies they release every week that I'm pretty sure you are not going to get on D+? And even if they do make it to D+, they are going to have the same good/bad ratio as Netflix
Those movies are perfect for a lazy Saturday/Sunday
Don't get me wrong, I'm getting D+ because its only $7 but I'm not getting for the old Star Wars, The MCU or OG Disney Animation stuff
I never watch the MCU movies on Netflix, not sure why I would watch it on D+
The Star Wars saga sans Rise of the Skywalker are played on TBS every weekend

A poster here claimed Netflix sucks and then admitted that they're not on Netflix for the originals :mjlol: That's just flawed.

Yeah, I'm not in this show watching shyt just for the Disney cookie cutter stuff. There's bound to be a few duds but I need the variety that Netflix and Amazon try to provide.

They have a ton true crime documentaries. No other streaming service is fukking with Netflix when it comes to documentaries
