You know you ain’t shyt when your workers are celebrating your departure.

Strange World drops in theaters this Wednesday but majority don’t even know off of how non-existent the marketing has been for it under Chapek. :beli:

Disney fukked up letting my man Tom Washington go. Now that was a CEO. This shyt Bob Chapek was pulling would not have happened under his watch. The animation department couldn't wait to get Chapek out the paint. Tom Washington was an animator. His whole life was a Disney story. And they blew it.

How you be his right-hand man's for like 20 years and then step up and fall flat on your face!?! Did you not see what worked the entire time you were next to him!?!

I knew once those earnings came out he was toast

It seemed that he wasn't really an idea/visionary person though. The board always wants to see progression, or at least something major happening each quarter. Chapek had damn near 0 things lined up. You can't even look down the line and see what their big thing is for 1st & 2nd Qtr 2023. The board probably looked at it like he's not putting forth any effort. I think that's what sealed his fate. They can live with losses for qtr, FY, but to have no plan of action is another monster completely.

Exactly. You can't be head of the largest entertainment Media company in the history of human existence and not always have a three to five to 10 year plan in place look at the Pixar acquisitions the 20th Century Fox deal and all the various moves that was made by his predecessor he was literally limping on quarter to quarter.

I've seen more commercials for She Said (which flopped due to poor marketing) than Strange World which is very telling.

Jim Miller is thinking that there maybe a Disney / Netflix situation coming:ohhh:

Lol a lot of people have crackpot theories right now
I saw someone say apple and Disney might merge since iger mentioned it in his book
I'm not very enthusiastic about Iger wanting Marvel to shy away from making more mature content.
i don’t think he’ll stop them at this point

Makes far too much sense when you think about it.

Them owning Netflix gives them original popular shows, rated R content and more importantly for Netflix stops spending so much on content as a whole.

Heck you can keep the name as Netflix and do a super bundle.

Absorb Hulu into Netflix.
Move their sports to ESPN, their movies/docs into Netflix and integrate their live TV or sell the rights. You got more than 3 apps in one bundle might be too much.

Disney/ESPN/Netflix

Far fetched but not unrealistic.

There's no way all of these streaming services will be around in 5 years

At one point, he said he didn't want Mickey in the movie. And, um, I kept saying, "But it's Disney. What are you talking about?" I can remember Thomas ranting in his office, "They're trying to make me put this white boy in my movie:pacspit:” And I'm thinking, "He's a mouse:skip:."
