In a stunning turn of events, The Walt Disney Co. says that Bob Chapek will step down as CEO, with Bob Iger returning to lead the company.

Disney’s board of directors announced the decision Sunday night.

“We thank Bob Chapek for his service to Disney over his long career, including navigating the company through the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic,” said Susan Arnold, chairman of the board, in a statement. “The Board has concluded that as Disney embarks on an increasingly complex period of industry transformation, Bob Iger is uniquely situated to lead the Company through this pivotal period.”

Whoa :gladbron:

The only thing I liked regarding Chapek was his approach to adding more adult-oriented programming to Disney+. His views towards animation however was a major buzzkill.
yeah his end goal was combing D+ and Hulu
Iger at the time was against it
last see if he still feels the same way after Universal gets rid of their share

That definitely would’ve been at least one of his few positives for sure. I’m more than happy with the news because the way Chapek treated Pixar during his time in was trifling.:scust:

All them budget cuts, shutting down the retail stores, what he did to the parks….time to get back on track.
