It really feels like Disney is driving their car in reverse and losing a race they should easily be winning. They could've just not made Indiana Jones 5 or not write Indy to be a grumpy old loser so they could trojan horse in some female protag no one cared about. Captain Marvel was a boring stoic character in a C-minus MCU movie and the other two you'd have to have watched two different Disney+ shows to know who they were.

Edit/Also movies having these $200-300 million dollar budgets is insane.
They really did that in Indiana Jones? :dead:
Haven't they done this enough and learned already :dead:

I love Harrison Ford, but he’s too old to play Indy… they should have switched actors every few movies like James Bond.

Marvel fell off hard after Endgame… they haven’t had any real direction or cohesive plan since. Almost all the best characters are either retired, dead, or partially owned by other companies and they’re taking too long with the characters people really want (F4, Dr Doom, X-men, Blade).

Unrelated, but Disney messed up Star Wars in all kinds of ways.
Bringing Palpatine back defeats the point of Anakin redeeming himself and becoming the chosen one.
Rain Johnson turned Luke into a coward who tried to off his own nephew over a bad dream, which was completely out of character for him.
There was no plan for these movies.
All the OG heroes had their hard fought victories undone between trilogies…
Just so they could be given away to Kathleen Kennedy’s self-insert who didn’t earn it.

Edit: the Luke, Han, and Leia never got to share ONE scene together in the sequel trilogy. Let that sink in.
This isn't Bond though where you know there's going to be another movie every 3 years for decades on end. Bond is basically an idea more than a person.

Maybe there’s some kind of ultra fraud going on because its kind of mad how dumb they’ve become with regard to green lighting movies now, they may as well be throwing millions upon millions in barrels and setting them on fire.

They've lost all common sense in terms of what audiences want to see, if you make you well written movies that aren't agenda driven garbage you can make big bank

Crazy fall off they’ve had since Avengers finished and don't even get me started on what they've done to kill Star Wars :scust:

Disney is failing because they keep forcing women to be the hero and protagonist in every action film. That goes for the Marvels, Indy, Star Wars etc...... Not even women want to see that all the time.
I don't think that was the case for Indy.

You can't spend damn near $400M on a movie starring an 81 year old Harrison Ford.

It's a 40 year old franchise that relies on one actor. Nostalgia will only get you so far.
