i recently got fios, told them outright i didn't want no damn disney+, they sent me an amazon echo instead ...some other shyt i won't be using

I am not surprised at this at all and figured they would do it after a while. I think it will end up working out better for them this way anyway by combining the two.

Disney doesn't have to worry about their family-friendly brand image being tarnished if this happens. The minimalist in me rolls its eyes at the need of two separate apps though.
