There is so much here but I think we can do better so I'm going to type a lot here... but not going to type everything that there is to say on the subject. Some is just imo.
So I had some thoughts on the ALS...
Thoughts are here : http://www.thecoli.com/threads/the-ice-water-challenge-and-als-disorder.242010/
But That made me want to look at diseases that affect black people that haven't received such hype.. as this random ass outta nowhere ALS bs... I volunteer with all the health organizations and honestly Most of us are killing ourselves.
But then I though: "all that doesn't even matter because we don't need them to find out own cures anyway... history shows they will simply deny us or hide the results.........or conduct illegal test on us.... pull some aids or ebola shyt on us or set up conditions that will help these diseases thrive"
What's important is that the diseases that do affect us are some of the most easily preventable things on Earth.
Look at the things that affect white people. Some of that stuff has resulted in 20, 50, whatever millions of people. Just like ALS... those are basically gonna keep killing with zero cure. It's as if Nature is rejected the recessive genes. Birth rates dropping.... infertility increasing, etc.
But look at these though:
Why is it that as blacks we are More suitable for every climate on Earth depending on how we eat, and are less susceptible to unpreventable nerve, bone, and fertility disorders, but are still dying from preventable BS?
Nature isn't rejecting us... we are rejecting ourselves... and according to associate dean of clinical affairs and medical director for heart failure at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center - Racism/White Supremacy plays a huge role in this.
Our lifestyle is killing us. Our lack of group economics is killing us. Our lake of pride in our urban communities is most def killing us.
Asthma is increase with lowered social economic status........... But not by just being poor.... being poor and in the poor 'hood' conditions caused by redlining, gentrification and sucking up of resources, racist zoning and a bunch of other shyt that happened decades ago and now.
Stokes, diabetes etc......... We already know that we (as a people) do not eat to live. The South black people are just fukked up. But some up north cities are worse--- For example, I believe that Detroit is always in the top 3.... and as I walk around my city... I see this fat bytches looking sloppy and complaining about they 'issues' and PLUS pharmacies and medication are huge here for the blood pressure related diseases.
Stress.. hood life.
WEB MD says:
At the end of the day, all of us acknowledge that race is a very poor physiological construct. Race is a placeholder for something else. That something is less likely to be genetic. It is more likely to have to do with socioeconomics and political issues of bias as well as physiologic and genetic issues that go into that same bucket.
Another doctors says: "There are health disparities.
There are things that may have more sinister origins in institutionalized racism."
-The lung-scarring disease is 16 times more deadly for blacks than for whites.
-Black American children are 3 times as likely as white American children to have sleep apnea.
-Black American babies die of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) 2.5 times as often as white American babies.
-Black Americans are half as likely to get flu and pneumonia vaccinations as white Americans.
"There are a couple of reasons," Graham says. "One is that 71% of African-Americans versus 58% of white Americans live in communities that violate federal air pollution standards. When we look at African-Americans in terms of demographic distribution, they are more likely to be located near, if not next to, transportation corridors, and to places where the air is drawn."
Another reason is that a higher percentage of black Americans than white Americans live close to toxic waste dumps -- and to the factories that produce this waste.
Cigarette smoking is declining faster among blacks than among whites -- but blacks still die of lung diseases more frequently than white Americans. This could be due to health care disparities -- blacks may get diagnosed later, when diseases are harder to treat -- but it could also be due to genetic susceptibility
"What sets the stage for the more aggressive and higher incidence of heart disease in African-Americans is a very high incidence of high blood pressure,"
Clinical trials show blacks and whites respond differently to treatments for high blood pressure. Indeed, treatment guidelines suggest that doctors should consider different drugs based on a patient's race. (also, treatments are guided to support a certain group more specifically)
"I go to this black neighborhood 20 minutes from my house in a white neighborhood, and the health education they get in school is much worse than the health education my kids get," Carlson tells WebMD. "It is not just formal education, but everyday things. It's being afraid to go out and exercise because you live in a high-crime neighborhood. It's not having transportation to your health care provider. It's not having decent fresh fruits and vegetables in the local grocery."
