Good. Don't PM me

And what does Courtney have to do with Kurts personal views? They don't. She's not him and he's not her.

If we assume that he knew that side of Courtney (a reasonable assumption), it shows that he AT LEAST tolerates CACery.
I like Nirvana, but if you hold him up as a sort of moral genius you may to be exposed to more things outside of art/entertainment, friend.

"At this point I have a request for our fans. If any of you in any way hate homosexuals, people of different color, or women, please do this one favor for us - leave us the fukk alone! Don't come to our shows and don't buy our records."- Kurt in Incesticide liner notes

"I would like to get rid of the homophobes, sexists, and racists in our audience. I know they're out there and it really bothers me"- Kurt as quoted in SPIN (1992-01)

Think what you want about Kurt, his life & his music, but he was always pretty consistent about being against old white money jock alpha male shyt & supporting anyone he saw as outcasts and/or oppressed.

He can say that publicly, but again, his private life shows he at least tolerates CACery, if not embracing it.

Dude is one of the least ignorant white people ever, much less famous rockers. He spoke out against cacery all the time (his private journals included) before political correctness existed, and outright called out cultural appropriation (Vanilla Ice, white people highjacking black music). He loved Public Enemy and called Hip Hop the only current music form with vitality other than punk (his genre).

He also said something like black music and black peoples contributions are the most copied and under appreciated, under respected and looked over.

Well, for one, there's saying it publicly & there's putting it in print in the next release after one of the biggest selling albums ever. That's pretty direct.

And if you want to speculate one what you think someone might be feeling behind closed doors, feel free, but realize you're doing it about someone who's closed doors have all been opened, personal journals published, multiple biographies written, multiple documentaries made, personal business put out in the world and instead of finding what you're alleging, you find more thoughts along the line of what I posted & him saying things like “rap music is the only vital form of music introduced since punk rock” (Journals).

He also said something like black music and black peoples contributions are the most copied and under appreciated, under respected and looked over.

See?

This isn't a figure where you have a ton of hidden behind the scenes stuff going on. All his business has been put out there, including the stuff he never intended anyone to see and it all paints the same picture.

So you can speculate what you want to but you have a ton of evidence to the contrary on this one.

He was a real one.

A lot of people on this site hate him entirely because he's a popular white rock musician which is pretty corny. It's a kneejerk reaction in part I guess to some of the stuff out there like Ted Nugent's comments, Phil Anselmo's racist onstage rant, Hetfield's borderline racist comments in the early 90's, Axl Rose's racist song "One in a Million" or Nikki Sixx going Michael Richards at some some gig in the 90's. A lot of rock stars are straight dikkheads :wow: but he's definitely not one of them.
