How is this a bad trade for the Knicks when they're 5-31? They got about $10MM+ in cap relief this season, got rid of JR, got rid of a dude they weren't re-signing in Shump, etc. It's not about it being a steal or home run, it's about getting rid of unwanted junk.

Can't say it fell thru yet. He just got here on a 5yr deal, and it was known he was getting rid of most of these losers anyway. He was forced to re-sign Melo, but hopefully we'll make some more positive moves with the Amare & Bargnani deals, since those expiring contracts have true value. It was always about June 2015 and beyond tho.
