The honest truth is I have the resources to start a family but I'm too selfish.

I love being uninhibited. I can make rash decisions without factoring the consequence to others. I love that noone dictates my schedule or life.

I appreciate when folks are honest about the disconnect between their personality and the requirements of the job of parent.

same thing i tell my mother when she asks why i don't just settle down with one of these nice pretty girls. shyt she's still obsessing about a girl i was with at UCLA. i guess this is the only positive of not going back home for thanksgiving this year. when she gets on my nerves with that shyt i usually hit back with y'all raised a selfish boy.

Don't give up either way. You're probably the kind of person who should start a family.

I'm pro family generally. And pro black family in particular. All of these high minded, well off people who have talked themselves out of families are really missing the boat. Don't leave the future the less capable.:snoop:
Yeah I mean I’m turning 30 next year, so I still have time. I’m just working on building my nest egg, since finances are a major ground for divorce and babies aren’t cheap, I’m trying be in the best financial shape when or gif I do come across someone I could see as a significant other.

Like I mentioned earlier the problem isn’t finding someone, the problem is finding the right person on the same timeline with a similar long term vision. I met tons of women daily, but they ain’t it.

Having a child is a big commitment that I think people underestimate. Because you’re not only caring for your child but the well being of your partner as well. You’re partner is essentially dependent for on you for a couple years during the child birthing process.

Not having some sort of financial recession proof mechanism in place is what I think does a lot of couples in because they fight / struggle over resources.

Damn this is something I can relate too. Especially as my net worth keeps going up. It’s seems like I care less too in a way.

I legit planned to visit like 3-4 countries this year prior to COVID :beli:

I damn sure plan to make up for it by using a gang of pto post pandemic.

But yeah I’ve legit traveled on the whim internationally, just because without giving anyone advanced notice that I’ll be gone for a couple weeks. Until the day before my trip. :blessed:

That type of freedom is :wow:

“I don’t think I can get pregnant.. family history of early menopause blah blah blah..”

yea ok, I’m not nuttin in you girl.

there were a couple where I wish it coulda worked out, cuz they were fun. But it won’t be fun when she’s your baby mother and you bumping “Here My Dear” on repeat with your finances in ruin

I had DINK, then I had kids
I regret it, I waited too long
You gotta think how old are you going to be when you your kids are 20, will you still be alive when they are 30.

Elaborate because on the surface this makes no sense. If you have a kid at 35 you will only be 65 when they hit 30.

You can’t control when you’re going to die, so why would you even factor this in? Everyone is going to die, so the best you can do, especially as a parent is plan financially for it. Once you set up the plan, go live life.

only 65?
65 ain't only to me man
I know 65yr olds, some of them are healthy, some are ok, and some are real bad
people are dying at 45 yrs old bro

Now with that said... I STRONGLY believe in you and the woman and also just yourself travelling the world before that.
I've travelled all throughout asia an europe, met loads of people and experienced their cultures. Doing so has made me a better global citizen in my opinion.
So def do that before kids, and also I often say on this site travel alone too! Get to know yourself.
Getting to know yourself and becomig a better person globally should be things that are done before kids.
But then make yo kids man
