:yeshrug: How did that serve him the year when Steph and Klay were out for the season? Dude was pure asscheeks. One of the worst players in the league
Because much of what Draymond does is not measured in Points/Rebounds/Assists, it's not always clear how valuable he is to the Warriors winning.

And to be clear: I trashed Draymond often years ago. But the way he recognizes what opposing offenses are trying to do, and the way he cuts into that...which often is what led to the Warriors getting out on the break and being deadly in transition...it's really something special to watch.

If you want to say "he was trash when Steph and Klay were hurt", I mean what did you expect him to do?

If Gasol and Kobe got hurt, would you suddenly say "Ron Artest is exposed as trash"??

You know what I mean?
And no, I'm not saying Draymond = Artest. I'm just making a point.

Ron Artest was an all star and DPOY long before he played with Kobe/Gasol. In fact, he was already on the downside by the time got to LA.

I expect a "HOF", "elite" player to not become a complete scrub when he's no longer playing with two all time great shooters/players.

I don't think Draymond is a scrub if Curry and Klay are off the floor.
I think when Curry and Klay are off the floor, it becomes even less apparent how valuable Draymond is, because when you're playing with lesser talent...even if you make the best and right basketball plays, if your teammates don't produce the expected outcome, nobody notices.

But alright. I think we just disagree.

:mjlol: Yeah, that's what you call a role player. A "HOFer" is not going to become one of the worst players in the league if you don't put all time talent around him.

So Draymond wouldn’t be the defensive player he is now on another team? You stay with the bozo takes
Probably not, probably been out the league tbh. Currys and klays greatness allowed us to see his impact on defense. Even with playmaking, average team wouldn't have allowed or given a guy who can't shoot barely 6'6 the opportunity to handle the ball like him. Without them he's probably would have been like every other 2nd round pick.

You put Draymond on any other team and he is garbage or coming off the bench bare minimum
He is entirely a product of the way the warriors play ball and the talent surrounding him.
