Not sure about Puff losing. Puff got a good Rnb bag. DR had an excellent RnB department but Suge neglected them IMO.

JD vs Diddy with just R&B/Soul hits would be very even. Sure you can sprinkle a few rap songs in there - diddy can counter Welcome to Atlanta with whatever he wants - but it'll be close. JD can use every track he co-produced.
On the rap side, Dre vs Diddy with all co-producers would be a heavyweight battle. Dre would probably never do it, but that's the only fair way of approaching this.
