There are more hip hop fans coming up right now who will have Kanye, Wayne, and Drake in their top 5 than hip hop fans who will have Biggie, Pac, and Nas in their top 5. Just as you won't find many people with Rakim or Kane in their top 5. It's just the progression of things, for good and bad.

Drake doesn't write his own lyrics but yet he acts as if he's some grand lyricist or emcee. That dude is not a lyricist or emcee. And he's a horrible singer as well.

Puffy don't do shyt in the studio but add advice on what should be switched around or added to the song and offer advice on on concepts and ideas

He's a producer in the traditional sense of the word, but not a Hip Hop producer. He's not the producer who's working the boards in the studio

Puffy doesn't know how to work an MPC, he can't play the keyboard. Dude is not musically inclined at all.

He just knows what sounds good and in that regard, he's a traditional producer, like a lot of non hip hop producers.
