I'll never understand how people think artists get robbed after selling their publishing

It's like selling your house for 500k and then when it goes up to a million, you go around and saying that the person that bought your house should give it back to you for free. :unimpressed:

The only problem I see is when artists are kids or when a lawyer isn't present.

It’s more like selling your house for 125k and the next guy sells it for 2.5 million

It’s funny how people be treating time lol. These catalogs are coming up on 30 years old. The artists should be getting something back. It’ll be interesting to see what artists could even do with it at this point

Giving back to people is one of the best feelings in the world.
Who knows why or if Diddy is giving back his artists publishing? But he didn't have to.
Wasn't Irv Gotti just on Drink Champs bragging about selling Murda Inc's publishing? I would think Bad Boys would be worth just as much if not more.
Worth way way more. By multiples. Murda Inc hits were rehashes of old Bad Boy records.

At the end of the day, Diddy didn't need to give back anything. So whatever they get back is fine and good. They made a deal.
Yeah he really didn’t and he made them artists they wouldn’t be shyt without his eye for talent, curation, aesthetic. :francis:

For all we know, maybe a Black person did have the idea first; but you know the how the game goes: white boys were able to get financed first, they took the site live, got paid big time by exploiting our culture, and then cashed out.
Genius was VladTV/NoJumper/Cam Capone with lyrics on the screen.
Before genius it was OHHLA.com and AZLyrics

Who wants to buy Loon's publishing :why:
Puff bought it once upon a time.

Early investors and people who investor in projects when nobody else does it, will always do it at a "low price" if that investment tends to do well.

Bill Gates can't go back to the 80s and tell his early investors that bought Microsoft stock for 2 bucks or whatever to give it back.

It's just rappers somehow managed to fool people that they can take fat advances, blow it all while calling us broke boys and flashing diamonds on our faces and then make us feel sorry for them.
