I early voted in Florida a week and a half ago. I had to show ID.

Well let me back up. I assume I had to. I pulled it out and gave it when I walked up. I did not have my voter registration card. It came in the mail two days later. I had it updated because I moved. My girl I believe just showed her voting registration card

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
Republicans are largely the ones who supported it.
Its not really nessassry as there is no real evidence of vote tampering.
only makes it hard for lower income people without id to vote.
I have friend who doesn't own a car, doesn't have a bank account or an ID. They could easily just verify his identity via their own records. they have your name and address on file.

More than that we have to pay for our ids. but voting is a right, requiring an id essentially forces people to pay for the right to vote. Which is low key unconstitutional to everyone except conservative law makers.

If they were being fair they would mail every registered voter a voter id card or some sort for free. And require that instead of a drivers license
IMO, as soon as you turn 18, you should automatically be registered to vote or at least it becomes automatic when you get your driver's license after you turn 18.

When I voted in Georgia I needed an ID, but here in NY, no ID.

i had to show my ID because I filled a affidavit ballot cause they correctly flagged i ordered a early mail in ballot but I didn't find one in the mail. usually though you just need to give you name and street address and I think they also compare your previous signature used.
