yeah he seemed to be just himself…serch came across as a try-hard…I still fukked with his music tho after the group broke up

Yeah, his solo album wasn't terrible, I liked the experimental production. Neither was Pete and Daddy Rich's but it was just less than compared to them as a group.
Search can rhyme and he been in Hip Hop since the beginning so to say he isn't real is hating but yeah, he is a corny dude.

oh absolutely

That reminds me of when I first joined, it took me a while to figure out that The Coli just uses that as a general term for all white people. :skip:

3rd Bass was dope IMO. I wasn’t old enough to listen to them when they were poppin but as corny and try-hard as Serch is, it seems like he got enough respect back in the day to be in Latin Quarters and shyt like that without too much trouble, he def would have been one of the very few white boys in there at that time. I like the first album, never really listened to Derelicts Of Dialect. The thing that blew my mind was finding out that Zev Love X was X Evolves backwards and DOOM thought of that when he was young AF, thought of himself and brothers as evolutions of Malcolm X. That MC Serch podcast is pretty dope so far.

Back in the day Serch was known for being a white boy that danced, crazy designs in his flat top and dissing the so called pop acts like Hammer & Vanilla Ice.

Is crazy because hip hop rode with 3rd Bass over Hammer. Got a lot of love from respected hip hop acts around that time.

They were of the culture and defending the craft. Hammer was...you know:francis:

Pete was so ill...top 5 White MC clear. Also why they were better together. Pete was going over heads, and Serch was the fun, easy bars. They complemented each other. If they stayed together, they could have had a mini dynasty. Them, SD50, KMD, Beatnuts, Sam Sever, Prince Paul. Everyone they were down with were ill:wow:

Serch was in Non Phixion when they formed in 96 and got kicked out the group for telling them he'd get them a Dr Dre beat in 97 (when Nas was working w Dre) and instead stole their money
I thought it was from him stealing the label money. Gore told a story where they were in a meeting and gore asked for some money finally and the exec looked at serch like “wtf did you doo, you HAVE to pay these guys serch..” and they found out he took all the money and gave them scraps.
