Power is the first hiphop album i ever owned , copped because of that cover art.

Because of ice-t shouting out P.E. & KRS One/BDP, I went oUt and copped their records which were more my flow as an EasT Coast guy. I fell in love w hiphop & never looked back true story.

I was about 8-9 years old at the time straight facts.

Respect Ice-T always.

His O.G. album has non stop bangers, but "high rollers" turned me out, along with seeing the actual hustlers getting that kind of money. To this day, that is the motivation song for me to get more & more, even though it wasn't his intention:francis:

This is bringing back memories, and has me wondering was Ice-t hip hop's first multi millionaire? All his albums went at least gold, and when he signed to Sire records, he kept his publishing. Because Samples didn't need to be paid back then, most of those sells went straight to him. Then he started acting as well.

I know he was the first person I seen with a house that had a retractable roof for his pool in the Hollywood hills, and he drove a ferrari, no one had that back then in hip hop.

Loved his music as a kid. Did a retrospective two years ago and his stuff sounds choppy and dated but the nostalgia factor carried me. He does have a good 5-10 money cuts that still hold up.

Yeah.

But I mean he was never considered an ill lyricist but he's respected because he birthed an entire genre of hiphop. I'll always fukk with Ice-T for that alone because not too many people can claim to have had that kind of impact on the game
