Anyone that doesn't know Scientology is for dumbfukks that think they are special enough to learn super powers if they donate enough money hasn't paid any attention at all.

Those clips of dirty ass L.Ron proudly scamming idiots out of their money and raising two fingers while yelling fukk the IRS from Cuba :bryan:
David Miscavage and Tom Cruise wearing matching power-couple suits and jacking each other off about how great the other one is :bryan:

The locked x-files briefcase with L.Ron's paranoid acid scribbles about Xenu that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to acquire :bryan:

People giving up all their dirt while being connected to a lie detector machine and thinking it's really "purging" them :bryan:

This was a good watch. I honestly expected more since I've heard most of these stories already, but it was funny to see 2 full hours of HBO not giving a fukk about those weirdos and their reactions.
I did come out of it thinking Travolta is just a gay idiot that can't think for himself and if Cruise wasn't an actor, he'd be locked up in someone's insane asylum anyway because dude is certifiably nutso.

To me, the only reason somebody would want to actively be a Scientologist is:

1. They're truly lost, and they just happened to stumble upon the worst answer/solution possible.

2. They're megalomaniac's/power hungry people who think they can pimp the Scientology/Hollywood system to their benefit. Some succeed (Miscavage/Cruise) most do not (Everybody else)

#1 I feel sorry for, #2 I do not.

Of the two main celebrities (Cruise and Travolta), I think Travolta is the true "slave/hostage" (or #1) and Cruise is the very definition of #2.

I don't think Cruise is trapped in the slightest, I think he's a megalomaniac who uses the resources at his whim to do what he wants and so far, it's working out just fine for him.

Seriously, fukk Tom Cruise with a rusty knife for waving around on that parade float like he was some kind of god born to Earth while knowing full well that it's pregnant ladies and children that are pimping his rides and doing his yard work for free. I hope Xenu hurries up and beams him off somewhere because he is a worthless human being. Travolta, on the other hand, just seemed really slowboat and like he got hemmed up because he put his faith in the wrong thing for the right reasons.

Didn't watch yet, but the craziest thing is the guy that runs Scientologies' wife has been missing for over 7 years or some shyt. Scientology pretty much has labor camps where they put people who act out. L Ron Hubbard's own kids said he's an a$$hole and this shyt is a scam. Seems like mad people who are gay secretly are scientologist, they prob think it helps cure them.

i think Cruise initially was a prisoner who got hardcore stockholm syndrome and is now a bigwig

that dude miscarraige is probably his gay lover, and reminded me a William Atherton played antagonist from an early 90s movie. Dude was such a villain it almost seemed fake.

The reason I don't watch too many documentaries is because it is easy to manipulate information and present it as facts to support any driven agenda. Now I am not saying that scientology isn't a cult because I think It is

This is a valid point and important observation. My boy brought this to my attention when we were discussing it. Now let me preface this by saying i ABSOLUTELY believe that scientology is a dangerous cult with a sinister motive and I'm not calling the people who were interviewed liars. However, when you really break it down, this movie is just a collection of interviews with ex-scientologists talking shyt about the church. There's no cold hard evidence of anything, no hidden camera footage, etc... we're just supposed to believe what these ex-members say. Now, i definitely believe where there's smoke there's fire so i'd be inclined to believe these guys are telling the truth but if you're a skeptic u gotta look at it from both angles.

Also, random ? : why are Cruise/Travolta never seen in the same room together?

I'd normally agree but the fact that HBO hired 160 lawyers during the process of this doc to protect itself from future litigation by the CO$ suggests that the info was deeply vetted.
