My games look good. I’m happy… until that ps5 pro drop. :shaq:

In all seriousness, I would like more interaction with surroundings, more destruction, and better enemy/npc ai etc. I’m not really tripping on polygons, pixels etc because in AAA they are pretty good.

Tired of playing in these pretty ass open worlds that don’t feel alive. That’s what Zelda BOW got right. I like how you could interact with a lot of the surroundings.
I was right, suddenly, these games look like
shyt now. Bring on the ps5 pro, yall can keep this amateur shyt :mjpls:

I'd say the industry in general has fukked up on the hardware side.

If you want to run a game at an internal resolution of 4k at 60fps, that's going to cost you at least 2k. We were told that ps5 and series X would be 60fps 4k machines and digital foundry debunked that shyt fast as f :mjlol:

We are at a stage of diminishing returns where ART STYLE makes all the difference. Boot up last of us 2 on an OLED and that shyt still looks good with HDR on. 10+years since the ps4 dropped. That's the result of strong art direction and attention to detail instead of just hoping the hardware is enough to render that shyt so it looks premium. Look at ghost of tsushima. shyt still looks BEAUTIFUL running today.

You've built a great game engine and have amazing artists when your game (released nearly 5 years ago) is being used to advertise the most luxury edition of the descendant of the system your game ran on originally :wow:

It’s the cost of parts and manufacturing thats fukking things up. Its too expensive to continue building mass consumer level hardware that is going to be a real leap.

I’ve already seen people complainging about Yotei’s graphics

Pay structure. It's all about corporate governance and the world is a mess right now letting these CEOs and investors go crazy.

When Nintendo did poorly, the old president would cut his own pay instead of firing workers. The whole tech landscape as changed now. The people running shyt don't care about anything other than replicating Nvidia's financial success. Nvidia knows that they can charge you 2k for a GPU because they have no serious competition anymore aside from AMD who is barely keeping up.

Customers need more choices, and the pay structures need to be overhauled so money is put into research and development to give customers more choices at different price ranges. They will eventually reach a price point(some would argue they're at that point now) where people simply won't buy their new shyt and just hang on to their old GPUs while playing less demanding games. The indie scene is flourishing and you can see what developers are achieving with older hardware. Fresh example:

There's a lot of juice still left in these cards. It's up to the individual developers to get creative, which they can do under good working conditions instead of being whipped to meet quarterly targets to keep investors happy.
