Potential to have a very short shelf life. He didn't have the full personality to pull it off for more than a few months.
Great gimmick and Matt was having incredible matches during that time. It's arguable that he was one of the best performers in the world during that time.
His move to Raw and subsequent injury derailed what would have been an absolutely amazing run had he stayed on Smackdown.

It was an excellent gimmick and I gotta give Matt props, he made it work really well
Had some dope matches around that time too, and the Sensei of Mattitude thing wasn't bad either

He was one of my favorites at that time. Best run of his career at least solo wise.
