Dude was probably one of the biggest scumbags in The Wire tbh

Hes the reason Butchie died, by setting up the fued between Marlo and Omar

Lets not forget he gave up Old Face Andre to Marlo

I was happy when dude got clapped

Marlo Da Gawd :blessed:

marlo/ omar would have happened anyway

old face dre had it coming, he choose to stay in bmore. lol love the scene when marlo takes his ring

Nah, I think he needed to go because he thought he could change the game from what it was with his co-op idea, letting Marlo get close to him on some peaceful arrangement was naive. Same reason Stringer had to go because he thought he could just switch up into an entrepreneur and not have that gangster shyt blow back on him

Nah that's a stretch. Yeah, Joe did put Omar up on that card game. But Omar and Marlo were going to cross paths regardless. You had two dudes that refused to back down so they were going to bump and bump hard. All the rest of the "kingpins" like Fat Face Rick and Hungry Man were content to let Omar rob them and keep it moving. Avon and Marlo weren't like that. So Joe wasn't the cause of Butchie dying. Omar killed Butchie by getting so close to him. Butchie told Omar before he left to Puerto Rico or wherever he went....

"You stole this much.......this ain't over"

Butchie never told no tales.

sympathetic character, but dude had to be responsible for a lot of death and hardship to get where he was at so :yeshrug:. plus, he was a target regardless as a boss

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Prop Joe tried to play both sides of the fence too much.. A nikka like that is dangerous and can never fully be trusted.. And at the end of the day he fukked Marlo over big time giving up his location to Omar when they were having that poker game.... then we he got robbed by Omar, instead of just taking the L, he tried to charge that nikka Marlo extra for the re-up..

Why was he helping marlo anyways?

I'ma need my breh @hexagram23 to come in and school us all on this and why this was a perfect example of bad/lazy writing that plagued Season 5 :wow:

The sole reason for a street savvy guy like Prop Joe to help a wolf like Marlo was the writers. They were trying to force Marlo into being the new Avon. Obviously everything that happens on a show is written but unless it's a stylistic choice, the writing is supposed to be transparent. Season 5 was the first time you could see the writers trying to make shyt happen.

From what we know of the character he'd never in a million years expose his entire operation to a young gun, then sit there like :dwillhuh: when he gets killed. It's the same thing with the Greek/Vondas Spiros. Look at how cautious they are in season 2. Look at how they're like :manny: about working with Marlo, who they don't know from a can of paint, just because he brought them money in season 5.

"The Wire" is still the GOAT but there was some extremely questionable writing going on in season 5.

Fred.
