I was able to log in around 2AM.
Played Destiny for like 3 hours, ran bounties with both of my characters... picked up new bounties, ran the Daily Mission etc.
I close the application, and leave the system on because I know it's more than likely going to still be fukked up later on.
I sleep in late... My nephew spent the night, we were playing 2K offline last night due to this... So he knows PSN is jacked up. I come downstairs and this lil nikka turned my PS4 off
........
Now I'm just sitting here salty AF because I know I ain't getting back online for another day

This is exactly what "the cloud" is trying to achieve.
Having the available servers and the ability to activate/deactivate them for various uses as the need arises. It's not really analogous to your example because the extra space can be used for other things while waiting to be used for gaming.

No. It's been up for everybody since Christmas Day. For me personally and a lot of other people it never went down. Nowhere near the debacle that is PSN
