And the sad part is people are actually giving them money (dude linked a bitcoin wallet or something I don't remember) and everything but won't simply chill out and let them hang themselves cause if they don't get attention they're gonna get bolder and get themselves hemmed up with the wrong people/law enforcement with their previous antics prior to the PSN/Live episodes

The tactics used to flood the servers were not anything special yet were very effective they took a time when servers would be rammed hard with traffic and added more strain to them.
Do not confuse these guys as gimmicks though, Their is no need to change your psn or xbox info as the companies where not hacks they were flooded. What was hacked was the hijacked servers used to create the stress on the servers. Not a easy task to achieve.

Basically if you want to play your systems stable, then the best thing you can do is cut your systems off and allow others to continue attempting to log on to the servers, right now hundreds of thousands of players are attempting to log in at once and it may take another day before things die down.
