Breh we play in the West and most of those first round exits where in the Melo era because his fat ass couldn't elevate his team. Being an All star doesn't mean your a superstar.

Breh Melo is a chump in this era and would of have been a bigger chump in the 90's and 80's. Just cuz you score 25+ ppg doesn't make you a superstar. What does it tell you when Carmelo has one of the worst playoff records of all time.

So basically you dont like Carmelo Anthony.

A healthy stat and Melo can't play with each other.

This myth needs to end.

Melo & Amare played great together when Woodson took over until Amare got hurt (again).

Last season the lineups with Melo & Amare on the court together had the most success out of all the combinations thrown out on the floor.

Referencing results from 3 seasons ago under a coach who's proven he aint shyt isn't a convincing argument

Nuggets won and this is why. Melo was gonna leave anyway and the Nuggets where able to get Gallo, Chandler, Moz and some draft picks in return. Melo was never a superstar, he's just a volume scorer that puts up empty stats. Nuggets were never gonna win a title with Melo but they were able to stay competitive without him and will probably win 45+ games again next year and make the playoffs. Knicks on the other hand are in a lose lose situation. If Melo stays they have to pay him 20+ mil and be the 3rd to 5th best team in the East or let him go to LA and go back to being a lottery team. That's why the Knicks will collapse before the Nuggets do because Melo has so many flaws that your team has to make up for and Melo commands a max salary.

How does he have empty stats?

:bryan: so I hate Melo now cuz I threw some facts at you. Get back to me when Melo has a playoff record over .500, or reaches the NBA finals. I'll wait.

Youre not making an actual argument though. He got us to the second round this year and fell to a better team. I guess Ray Allen, KG Pierce, Steve Nash, karl Malone, and stockon all sucked too. I now understand youre :troll:

Breh time. Is it to much to ask a "superstar" to elevate his team in the playoffs or is that not a requirement anymore.
Why couldn't bron elevate his cavs team to a title ,??? Why can't cp3 ? Why can't kd? What are you talking about ? Making your team a playoff team every year is elevation . And averaging 25+. A game is hof numbers dummy
The problem with Lebron becoming the best player in the league is it has made casual fans hold everyone else to an impossible standard. Carmelo Anthony is elite now, and would be elite in any era. He was more than willing to take the challenge of bringing new york a chip. Melo can easily be the next Dirk type player to win it all.
Yup . It's like now your either the best of all time or trash no middle ground .
A healthy stat and Melo can't play with each other.

That's why the NBA is 5 on 5 and not 1 on 1. You guys gave up good assets so you could pay a one dimensional player 20+ mil a year and sell some extra jerseys. Just ask yourself this if Melo is a Superstar than why hasn't he had much playoff success. His peers Dwade and Bron have both had playoff success before they teamed up in Miami but Melo has never been able to elevate his team to the next level. The Knicks will get bounced in the first round next year cuz the Heat, Bulls, Nets, and Pacers are all better than the Knicks.
We advanced further than the nuggets in the playoffs so our one dimensional chucker is working out fine . What if the knicks don't get bounced first round? What will your opinion of melo be ? Umm Melo led a team to a WCF ,lebron never won a ring without wade though and felt he had to join him to win one soooo what argument are you making ? Losing to the celtics and losing in the finals to spurs are what your bigging cavs bron up for ? He's not a superstar because like bron he couldn't win a ring by himself hmmm yup sound logic you got there

He sounds like all he does is watch first take and regurgitate shyt . He doesn't elevate his team ?? Did he see the Celtics series 2 years ago or the heat series ? The Knicks had no business even being in a game with those lineups out there

Seems like people in this thread are either way underrating Melo or slightly overrating him. He's elite. I don't really like him as a player either but that jumper... whew

My biggest issue with him as a player is that he's not "hustle" enough for me. The top tier elite players like Lebron, MJ, Kobe are extremely hustle. They're not just there scoring but they're all over the place rebounding, stealing, chasing down open layups.. They hustle they ass off. They don't chill and smile during the game when it's tight. I hate that about Melo. That fukkin' smiling. I don't think I ever seen him out there getting dirty. No Larry Bird-style sliding across the floor, no Shaq style jumping out of bounds to save a possession. He's letting role players do it and he's standing in the middle of the court smiling, waiting for the ball to come to him.

Don't come with one or two highlights in his career. The top-tier elite players are doing it every night getting hustle highlights nightly, not here and there. I'm a Knicks fan but I'm not feeling confident we'll get a chip with him as our centerpiece. Not unless he gets that pretty face dirty and bruised.

I realized when I started listening to cac nyc radio that people just dont like melo because hes black and has a body type that would be 'fat' if he never worked out.

If carmelo wasnt a basketball player he would be naturally fat. The shape he is in is very impressive. This is coming from someone who wasnt a fan before we traded for him. Carmelo is the man. Other than lebron, kobe, and maybe dirk, there isnt a player from the last few years i would rather have leading my team.

You missed him this year huh diving in the crowd and shyt ? Or you miss the wAy he goes up absorbing contact to get his own offensive rebound several times in a possession ? You missed the way his defense Improved this year ? The way him and kg were going at it ?
And lebron dances and acts a fool on the sideline !!

I guess 2011, 2012 playoffs were both his fault.

One was just a shytty team and the other had no point guard. But this is not a team sport. So I guess my point doesn't make any sense to some

When you see melo in regular clothes he's clearly in shape . They just want him to be ripped like bron apparently even though that wouldn't make him a athletic monster like bron.
