Any of you boys that love Apocalypse Now need to check out Herzog's MASTERPIECE "Aguirre: The Wrath of God". Had huge influence on Coppola.

From the beginning of the production, Herzog and Kinski argued about the proper manner to portray Aguirre. Kinski wanted to play a "wild, ranting madman", but Herzog wanted something "quieter, more menacing". In order to get the performance he desired, before each shot Herzog would deliberately infuriate Kinski. After waiting for the hot-tempered actor's inevitable tantrum to "burn itself out", Herzog would then roll the camera.

it is. i normaly hate vampire movies, but that one is great for the way he managed to use really old school visual effects in a modern movie

why when martin sheen at the beginning landed to meet that surfer colonel the first time it had like a director looks like francis telling him how to move is that easter egg or someting they had him and girl recorded them when they got there like they was shooting a film inside of a film

Having just watched Dracula recently, I didn't think it was that great. Oldman and Hopkins were the best parts but that's to be expected. Soundtrack and cinematography was piff. Story was kind've a mess though and Ryder and Keanu sucked.

Was going to say he never put his nephew on. Then I say this and remembered Nic Cage was in this. So is Matt Dillon. He must have liked Dillon to put him in outsiders name rumble fish...Odd movie, but dope none the less...Also gave Laurence Fishboure his first role in Apac Now. By the time he's in Rumble Fish dude looks 15 Yeats older...
