I agree with the sampling part, but give credit where it's due. The Twitter posts in here show that the dude is grateful for the exposure but if he wasn't paid, that's kinda bullshyt IMO
We don't know who the producer is or even the writers are. " I know who I paid dog Searchlight publishing" Donald could've paid the producer for it

Well, the credits don't have his name there and based on his tweets he was hoping to get a shout-out, so it doesn't look like a check was cut... but dude didn't seem fazed by it

Maybe they tried to a pull a fast one? It wouldn't be the first time this happened breh

To me Childish Glover has exactly one dope thing that he's done

Stay Woke. I know it's called Redbone, but he even failed at naming his one dope thing.

His standup is boring. His char on Community was lowkey embarrassing. Definite sambo-try

I honestly have never watched Atlanta, but I don't have any desire to

This is America was wack to me. The song in the OP was definitely a better time and it sounded VERY similar. But that's how Contemporary Rap works. They actually try their hardest to copy others. The sounds in the beats "Aye!.. Aye!.. Aye!...", to the rolling hi hat, to even all the autotune. If you DONT sound enough like everybody else the current audience turns off instantly. They can't even stand to listen unless it matches something they know

Songs are definitely different enough.
Its the voice breaks in the back ground and the sparse drums that make them so much alike, but the composition is radically different, as is the vocal delivery and actual subject handling.

"I don't want to explain the meaning of the video" headass :mjlol:

Probably cause you bit it too:ufdup:

Oops, my bad, I mean took inspiration from it:hhh:

Dude's chilling but if I was him and still struggling I would be hot. The video+the song propelled Donald G to full blown mainstream and he has 100 millions views on that shyt + multiple essays + tv talks + twitter in flames.

And a breh cannot even get a mention or a credit?:gucci: You got me fukked up. fukk a bridge, you steal from me I won't deal with it for a career on some #metoo victim shyt.

I'm exposing your ass and capitalizing on the noise and everything. I'm dropping a whole distract + video and receipts on your ass. Ima force you to acknowledge me since you want to steal from smaller than you.

This is some bs...
