I thought Kiss' disses were better but Sigel made the better overall record, if that makes sense.

Like, if we go bar for bar, Kiss beat Sigel kinda clear imo. But if we add in aggression, beat selection, overall quality of the record, I think Sigel edged that part. Which makes it debatable imo.

Miya funny cause I used to argue in college if u took the best members from State Property and they battled Lox, SP made better MUSIC/SONGS, but the Lox had better 16’s career wise

You better have the cultural emcee rules intact.
As they will take liberties being the former best crew st showcases and will thread the line on what is legal battling either as a group or solo.

So if you not a showcase headliner or emcee with cultural pedigree.
To reign in the inevitable line stepping and sckraight cheating the lox will do.

Then you will flat out lose.

In this Instance both crews punched themselves out. Flirting the line and engaging in what would have and usually disqualified competitors in a battle.

Yet since both were jiggy line steppers crews. It gets looked over.

To see the spectacle.

Of cheat 2 win with jiggy rappers.

Which is basically the rap precursor version. of what would become heel vs heel style battle. Like naito vs Jericho or naito vs omega in njpw. Where somehow people just overlook.
the cheating to add to the quality of the work.
Yet culturally...
Both these crews technically cheated.
Plus the lox always culturally cheat in battles. After this to the point.
If you have a crew of non-emcees. The lox will take liberties. That would not be allowed culturally verse a culturally emgrained emcee.
Yet since both crews are jiggy line steppers.

The audience does not give a fukk.

Plus those line stepping style semantics can work against the lox. Like fiddy dispensing them with I run NY. Till the lox saved faith on shots fired. Where both crews are jiggy.
They idea of jiggy content can take precedent over the skillbase of a superior emcee who went jiggy.

Where to the common rap audience. This is still a convo. Yet since the audience is pop and jiggy. This battle had no distinct winner.

Since the criteria of jiggy is sales based and not skill related. To give a real victor. Plus so much line stepping occurred. There still can never be a credible winner. As there exist no cultural or skill based criteria to deem a clear winner.
