Use to hang out with Jack White of the White Stripes in high school. Looking back, I give him props being one of a small number of white kids in a predominantly black high school in Detroit. I wished his music reflected more of that. He was raised with that "Anti-Disco" sentiment..."If it ain't rock music, then it isn't real music."
