Not trying to argue but when you're driving down to the local store, you have the choice to drive 20MPH if you want to, shyt...if it's a lot of traffic you don't really have a choice but to drive stop and go.. You're surviving a fender bender most likely. A plane crash, you have no chance.
42,000+ people died from auto accidents in 2022

358 aviation deaths in 2022

What’s the average useful life of a plane? Are we at like the end of life for a generation of planes?

Just feels like plane crashes are more prevalent in general.

Maybe it’s just more news coverage.

Obviously the Reagan one was a different situation.

40+ years. As long as they’re maintained.

Means nothing. You still control how you operate your vehicle. More people drive daily than fly daily... Many of them speed in areas where they aren't supposed or drive crazy in weather they shouldn't. You have the choice to drive safely

I posted even the GA pilot aviation deaths in that too

Every single person flying a commercial airliner is an experienced professional who passed a bunch of tests/exams/evals etc

Your average driver is not a professional. And there are people on the road right now who don’t even have a license

You can be the safest driver in the world and get killed by a random person who just got their license last week

Thats not quite the same in aviation

Yeah right, you're at the complete mercy of whatever retard is 500ft around you.

Where you live also determines the speed of the drivers around you. There's a lot of factors that aren't being accounted for when you are simply adding up raw totals of auto accident deaths.

Do you feel safer when you're in the air or do you feel safer driving over to the gas station when you can't do more than 20MPH? This isn't an argument I came in here to have. If everyone around you is driving at a high speed that changes things dramatically.

It's just media coverage and people suddenly remembering every crash in the history of time

The commercial one the other day was actually a :wtf: moment, there should be zero fukkery with commercial flights where shyt is colliding in midair

This one today (while still tragic) is moreso a big deal because of WHERE it went down

This isn't the first time a smaller plane has crashed, usually those are the ones crashing

But to come down in the middle of a major city?
fukk man :mjcry: it's one thing to get in a plane and know there's a slight possibility of it crashing

It's another thing entirely to be minding ya business at home watching the 76ers play and a fukking plane just lands on you :why: Donnie Darko shyt
