Not neccessarily true. Alot of NY up and commers are simply not marketable. Catering to the sound the labels is looking for is a bullshyt excuse. If they put their creative efforts into finding a new sound, the region as a whole will blow up. Al la the West Coast (Odd Future, TDE, Dom, etc) all have a distint sound.

Besides when you have cats the The Weeknd tearing down doors in terms of sounds and concepts. NY has no excuse.

Its all good though. I have a feeling NY is gonna be blowing up real soon. On sum Chicago shyt in the next couple of years.

you definetly right about creating a new sound but it is a combination of both i have been and am closely connected to people in the industry here....its easier to jump on the bandwagon then go through the bumps of starting a new sound, having the heart to go against the grain of popularity and not being accepted initially only to have everyone follow u.....but its like who gon be that next niccuh from here? i havent seen them yet but i know that brain cell exists somewhere in nY ......but really in rap period since big/pac there have been no trailblazers just nikkaz basically doing variations of the same ish and content:manny:

i dont know where some of you are supposedly from but are we gonna act like east coast rappers dont remix each other's songs too? this is a non-issue.

they dont really do this down south as much so when a dude like 2chainz who is old and from down south sees his records being remixed, he thinks back to the days of rap slavery and figures its some east coast bias type chit.

bottom line, if you feel threatened by this, then stop living off of just beats. step your actual rap game up and you wouldnt have to worry about your song being phased out by glorified freestyles over the beat you paid for. ole half-rappin, only as good as your producer @$$ rappers.

2 Chainz is about to not count real soon. I've still never heard an actual song of his.

I was at a bachelor party yesterday and the bride to be's little cousin tagged along..

When we got in the hotel he ran and hooked up his iPod
Its amazing/disgusting how many of these jokers shamelessly use 2chainz flow

NY nikkas are notorious for biting what's hot, nuthing new here.....but the east coast already shytted on the south and the south got straight bullied and backed down....I think it woulda been interesting but its too late now....south had its chance to defend itself...shoulda made a Bow Down type of record while y'all wuz relevant...the light is dimmed on the south now too.

I always found it funny that the "East Coast" is generally looked at as just NY. What about the other cities/states on the east coast and their rappers? Philly, D.C., Baltimore, CT, NJ?

The East Coast has alot of talented rappers, just nikkas dont wanna acknowledge them anymore or that sound aint what's "in" at the moment:manny:

Jadakiss, Styles P., Fabolous, Jr Writer, Vado, Meek Millz, Joey Jihad, Wale, Grafh, Joe Budden, Young Chris, Lloyd Banks, Los, Nas, Jay-Z, Cassidy, Freeway, Camron, all still go hard with their pen/lyrics game.

Leave it to yall however, the east coast is trash. But to me, it's still alot of talent over there.

It just aint hot anymore to value lyrics over beats:ehh:

So........I'ma continue bumping this Future, 2 Chainz, and Rozay for the time being:heh:
