Dianne Feinstein claimed she hasn't 'been gone' when asked about her lengthy absence from the Senate: 'No, I've been here. I've been voting'

For me, the only question that needs to be asked is, how many other members are in the same state.

While I understand where you’re coming from, I think the fact that she’s hinting at it being bigger issue deserves just as much scrutiny.

She's 83 years old herself and aligned with a oft-lost 80yo president, she's obviously trying to downplay the issue, not "hint at it being bigger." :skip:

:pachaha:

That’s hyperbole, but the reality isn’t much better.

From Feb 2023 to May 2023, Fetterman missed 67 of 127 roll call votes, which is 52.8%. This is much worse than the median of 2.3% among the lifetime records of senators currently serving. The chart below reports missed votes over time.
So yea @Rhakim, pelosi ain’t just covering her own ass. Y’all just not gonna give him shyt because he’s a progressive.

Dude was literally stroking out during his campaign.

@the cac mamba spoke on it a lot and was shytted on by you :francis:

TF is this deflection supposed to mean? :why:

Feinstein was getting rightly criticized because she should have stepped down years ago, Pelosi was cynically calling that criticism "sexist" solely to deflect, and you want to pretend that Pelosi was hoping to point out a "larger issue" rather than merely deflecting from the issue entirely?

When I said that Pelosi's bad faith arguments were right in line with certain HL posters, you were quite aware of who that referred to.

Why the fukk are you posting a lie by a right-winger at all? :why:

This sort of bullshyt is incredible. You KNOW that what he's saying is a lie, you KNOW he has a regressive agenda, but you post it anyway because it serves your own agenda and then have a tiny correction in much smaller type. You don't think just posting the facts is good enough, you have to literally co-opt right-wing distortions against progressives.

If I thought Fetterman was only going to deteriorate and couldn't serve as a senator, then I would want him to resign too. He's been serving in government for 17 consecutive years and hadn't had any long absenses until this past year. You don't see the difference between someone who is 53 and having temporary health problems that doctors have said he will recover fine from, and someone who is 89, mentally gone, and refusing to even disclose what their health issues are?

Is the issue him being able to do his job or not? He’s missed more time than her.

I've been saying for the longest that he's the sort of candidate Dems need. Passionate, walked the walk, hits the economic issues hard, big tent, knows how to keep the conversation away from divisive issues with no benefit, and doesn't put up with no bullshyt.

I mean he jumped in to a Republican-held seat, during a terrible year for dems, he's ugly as fukk, facing a rich celebrity candidate who could outspend him, had a major personal controversy dominate the primary, huge health issue, couldn't talk, couldn't campaign, and he still wiped Oz off the fukking floor.
Yea you weren’t concerned about his health being a problem. You actually praised it.

It would be nice if you could actually be consistent

The issue is whether he can do his job or not. He missed some time but came back and can do his job. She can't do her job. He's 53 years old and he's back in session and doing fine, sounds more mentally on top of things than his president does. She's 89 years old and isn't even in touch with basic reality.

Do you really not see the difference?

I didn't praise his health issue, dumbass, I praised how easily he won despite the health issue. He was a physically ugly candidate who couldn't campaign and had his personal issues dominate the headlines, yet he killed his celebrity opponent and flipped a Republican seat in what was otherwise a net loss year for Dems. That proved how much his agenda resonated with voters.

How many bad faith arguments are you going to make in one discussion?

If there's one thing I'll say about you, it's that your disingenuousness is incredibly consistent.

This is a point you brought up about Pelosi, suggesting folks hold women to a different standard when they are missing time.

It’s not disingenuous because the criticisms surrounding her missing time and in particular how that was holding up judicial nominations.

By that standard, Pelosi is correct in pointing out how others have missed votes that slowed up the process.

How many bad faith arguments are you going to make in one discussion?

The only one operating in bad faith is you pretending the complaints around Feinstein not resigning began with her mental health and not because she was missing time.

When the reality is that’s where this latest wave for her resigning began and it’s moved to her mental health because she said dumb shyt like she didn’t miss time.

But that’s not convenient, so you’re trying to focus on the mental health angle because it’s a stronger argument. Stop trying to use debate tactics in every conversation and actually join the discussion you autistic goof.

You are so fukking full of it. Of course the complaints around Feinstein not resigning began with her mental health. That was already an issue for over two years before the recent missed time, all that missed time only increased the # of people who were willing to say it publicly.

October 2020:

December 2020:

January 2021:

March 2021:

September 2021:

April 2022:

May 2022:

June 2022:

Her missing time and delaying judicial appointments only added fuel to the fire. The reason she's taking so much heat is because we've known for YEARS that she was mentally unfit to serve AND she's missing time AND she (or her handlers) are being deceptive about the actual extent of her health issues AND at her age, her health is only going to get worse.

Claiming it has anything whatsoever to do about "sexism" is a bunch of bullshyt from Pelosi. And every single one of your various goalpost shifts to deflect from that lie are a bunch of bullshyt from you.

We ain’t about to do all this long winded arguing for the sake of arguing. Especially when I’ve said repeatedly she should resign, since she won’t she should be expelled, and voters should take things like this into consideration during the primaries.

Go do some research on LeBron since I’m sure you’ll be polluting the sub up with Bron dikkriding all night. :Jimmyumad:

you said this yesterday:
Even Schumer asked her to resign in 2020 and asked her husband to tell her the same
People been asking for her to step down. she old and clinging to power.

I remember people said she was off her head back when she hugged Lindsey Graham for forcing through the Amy Barrett hearing. :dwillhuh:

And let’s pretend the calls for her resignation started yesterday, so what? It’s not relevant to her being unable to do her job now and going forward. You know this Because you have said this several times in this thread and the other on this topic.

Logical fallacy man can't admit he lost the argument that HE started for no reason except to defend Pelosi, so he just runs away while throwing an absolutely irrelevant ad hominen at the end for good measure. :skip:

One thing I like about you is that even if posters haven't seen all the times you showed your ass in previous years, you're so consistent with it that they don't need to know the history to get the context.

You bumped the other thread after it sat dormant for a year based on this tweet. So yes when I say this latest waves of calls for her resignation began regarding her missing votes I am actually going off your own words.

What you are saying is wholly irrelevant. It doesn’t make sense at this point except to argue to argue. It’s weird.

You agree she should step down. I agree she would step down. She should step down. You don’t need to defend everything old and powerful Dems say.

Y’all the ones that started this bullshyt argument.

I told Rhakim, I understand your position, but Pelosi does bring up a point worth looking into — that being how much folks are missing votes.

I could give a fukk what her motives are, but y’all get so laser focused on selling your narratives that it turns into this bullshyt.

Because we all know what it’s really about, y’all get worked into a tizzy anytime someone doesn’t echo the du juror progressive position.
