newsom could appoint someone with the expressed intent that they're only senator until january 2025, and have nothing to do with the primary :yeshrug: im sure he can find a qualified individual out of hundreds of willing mayors and state congressmen. that person wouldnt be owed a future career from the voters, for being an interim senator; it will just be their circumstance

i hope she drops dead soon. shes a disgrace. and when/if she does, that's exactly what newsom will have to do anyway, right? :dead:

They can’t publicly push her to step down.

Optics would look bad as the entire party is getting ready to throw all their support behind another old timer.

However, they should do it privately because she’s putting a lampshade on Joe’s age.

I mean she would be replaced with another democrat if she would step down.

Newsom has already said he would put a black woman in her seat, many people think that would be Barbara Lee.

the theory people have is Pelosi wants Schiff to get the seat and they don't want to give Barbara Lee an incumbent advantage in an election, so they're holding onto the seat til the term ends. coincidentally Pelosi's daughter is a high ranking member of Feinstein's staff too.

those old greedy power hungry bytches really fukking the state over :wow:
I ain’t tryin to see Lee’s old ass get that seat either. Appreciate the work but she’s pushing 80…FOH. Katie porter needs that seat.

If voters were concerned about age they could, you know, not vote for old people.

I find this position ironic when you’ve been running around for years saying voters will reject Biden over here age. What’s different now?
Let’s not act like that’s all it was. Her last race was as close as its ever been. Plenty of people felt she was too old, unfortunately more old people vote in midterms + name recognition and she won.

but where am i inconsistent? of course she should have been primaried 5 years ago :dead: these fukking cartels, both D&R, protect these dinosaurs and fend off primary challengers
DeSantis will probably be the nominee.

There was a viable alternative and folks chose her instead.

:pachaha:I’m not sure how name recognition discredits the idea that folks voted for her knowing she was old as fukk.
