POE comes real close imo. The only knock I have with it is that the game runs like ass no matter how good your system is. And as someone who plays hardcore, getting killed because your frame rate drop to single digits or ti a disconnect is beyond dumbD2 basically made these looters a thing

Honestly it's hard to answer that question without being biased. I personally believe D3 was a huge step back from D2. My biggest complaint with D3 is that they took a lot of the freedom of character builds away and they tied stats too much to gear.
Plus the auction house, the limited matchmaking, the goofy World of Warcraft inspired color pallet, etc etc..
