No Whammies!!
This last episode they've really hit their stride. So much of the series has felt silly to me, but this was such a dark episode overall and filled with incredible callbacks.

That last scene was legit chilling. We've seen it played out so many different times in OG series but there's something more haunting about iteration. All the other people in there too just made the whole idea of this so fukked up. And the zoom in on Dexter's eyes, to really show this was the moment he was born, meanwhile Laura completely covered Brian, as if to show he didn't need to SEE it to be fukked up since his darkness was already there.

Seeing that Captain's performance, knowing that he's guilty, was also pretty fukked up.

Now I assume Gio is the son of Jimenez and I'm curious as fukk how they tie in LaGuerta now knowing Brian Moser's name. She obviously didn't know him in the OG, so I wonder what they do with it, because I think you're right about all the killings that looked like suicides being connected to Harry's ultimate death. But that means LaGuerta was partners with Harry effectively when he died and had the Moser name in her hands in this, despite no references to any of that in the OG. That'll be hard to look past.

I wonder how/when they talk about Matthews as well, since they seemed so close and he seemed to know so much of Dexter's past and be close with Harry, as well as knowing how he died, yet he's nowhere to be found in this series.

La guerra only saw a “b. Moser” and Brian was known as “Rudy” anyway

Right. I don't think anyone but Dexter himself ever figured out that Rudy Cooper was Biney.

There was a whole BOLO for Brian Moser by the end of the first season because they found his blood on Batista after he jumped him and they tied his blood to Moser at a psychiatric hospital. No one knew who Brian was to Dexter until later on but they definitely knew Rudy Cooper was an alias for Brian Moser.

Just weird, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because this has gotten pretty good. But LaGuerta's relationship with Harry, her being exposed to the Moser name, all things I'm curious to see they bring together to the original.

215 Uptown!
Great episode. Best episode in the Dexter universe since Season 4 of the O.G show :wow:
People sleep on season 7. I think it's the 3rd best season of the entire show (4/2/7)

But yea I agree this episode can match the best of the best from the original series. It was that good.

Still trying to figure out how they can have multiple seasons of this show since this is all happening in Dexter's head as he's on the hospital bed. Once he wakes up for Dexter Resurrection how are they gonna get back to this timeline??

But I agree this needs multiple seasons. We need young Doaxes and Matthews. (Read a rumor that the gay black dude is related to Doaxes.) He's gonna die somehow (which is obvious as he's not in the original series) and that is what brings Doaxes to Miami Metro.
