This last episode they've really hit their stride. So much of the series has felt silly to me, but this was such a dark episode overall and filled with incredible callbacks.
That last scene was legit chilling. We've seen it played out so many different times in OG series but there's something more haunting about iteration. All the other people in there too just made the whole idea of this so fukked up. And the zoom in on Dexter's eyes, to really show this was the moment he was born, meanwhile Laura completely covered Brian, as if to show he didn't need to SEE it to be fukked up since his darkness was already there.
Seeing that Captain's performance, knowing that he's guilty, was also pretty fukked up.
Now I assume Gio is the son of Jimenez and I'm curious as fukk how they tie in LaGuerta now knowing Brian Moser's name. She obviously didn't know him in the OG, so I wonder what they do with it, because I think you're right about all the killings that looked like suicides being connected to Harry's ultimate death. But that means LaGuerta was partners with Harry effectively when he died and had the Moser name in her hands in this, despite no references to any of that in the OG. That'll be hard to look past.
I wonder how/when they talk about Matthews as well, since they seemed so close and he seemed to know so much of Dexter's past and be close with Harry, as well as knowing how he died, yet he's nowhere to be found in this series.
La guerra only saw a “b. Moser” and Brian was known as “Rudy” anyway
Right. I don't think anyone but Dexter himself ever figured out that Rudy Cooper was Biney.
