To throw people off the trail. If he went straight for his own kid, it may have given people a reason to look into him or the other guy. This way he immediately looks like a victim

I like the new show. I feel weird that I was disgusted by Old Deb in the original show but "teen" Deb will get choke fukked from the side til she can't take it anymore

I knew Patrick Dempsey was gonna be the killer when he appeared on screen. Because if he wasn't, then that means he was booked to play the role of Police Captain. And that would be a waste of a well known actor and I don't think he woulda took the role just being a police captain. So I saw this twist coming episode 1. To me it woulda been a "twist" if it wasn't him. Sarah Michelle Gellar is a cougar and I think she's gonna try to fukk Dex. But yeah it's more to her to or they'd have booked a lesser known in her role too.

One theory I read is he probably killed the Judges kid because that same Judge might have finalized the police captain's divorce.

The killer knew the house lay out and he has a bloody wrist and the box has blood on it. He has a hunch and has to see if it s a direct match. He not sure...but Dexter is quite intelligent and would make Batman blush....
