The Risk and Execution. Lucas did not make the same 3 movies again, he made 3 different ones again maybe the Execution wasn't perfect but he took risk. JJ litterally remade A New Hope. The point was the critics were gushing over X-Wings and a New Death Star instead holding JJ's feet to the fire for lack of originality.

Execution. Exactly. Flaws are overlooked when films have other things going for it. The prequels are full of horrible direction, characters, acting, plot, motivations, etc. etc. And I'm not sure where you got the Death Star gushing, when almost everybody was pretty much "uggh, another one?"

the thing is nobody, including the suits at WB, consider a movie with batman and superman to be like "the other movies". a movie with those properties outweighs any potential profits from any of marvels properties.

the only people thinking a movie with Batman and superman has less potential profit than a movie starring iron man, captain america and thor are those who coincidentally have a great deal of trouble comprehending people not liking BvS as much as they do

There was at a time a NOLAN bandwagon too by the critics. That said, lets TALK about TDK trilogy and the trendy bandwagoning of the critics. Marvel studio's 1ST film came out of 2008... there wasn't any MCU prior to that. Marvel studios wasn't even owned by Disney either. Critics gave both Iron Man and TDK mad love.... there wasn't a BIAS to speak of. It's only AFTER and the building up hype of Avengers , you could of seen the shift happen right before your eyes. I still call, to this very DAY, the 1st Avengers movie the MOST OVERRATED film in any superhero genre. There were so many blatant flaws but everybody ignored it because they got their wish of a Superhero mash-up for the 1st time ever and Whedon successfully put the ensemble and made it work. After that, ALL OF THOSE CRITICS were on Marvel's dicck! It was slowly happening once TDKR came out, but it was in full swing since....

Let's just say he is purposely wrote a bad review. Who gives a fukk?! There are over 200 + reviews of the movie and you have what 10 tops you can point to as biased? That's statistically insignificant. People like Richard Roeper, A.O. Scott and Leonard Maltin have been doing this for decades they are biased to the point of purposely giving bad reviews to good movies? OR what about the 100 or so people writing for like their local newspaper? Them to?
