They would have to kick the religious/social conservative stuff to the curb; stop with that whole trickle down economic theory that they all seem to adhere to and promote economic policies that benefit more than the 1%; curb their hawkish foreign policy tendencies.
That would be a good start.

legalize marijuana.
End tax breaks for corporations.
Provide free health care and additional tax breaks for those who identify as African Americans.
End war on drugs.
End Israeli Support.
Provide training and technology support for African nations instead of monetary slavery/aid.

For me they wouldn't have to stop being the Party of CAC or even like liberals, moderates, or so-called minorities... they would just need to change a few things. No political party will be perfect.

Truthfully, Democrats and Republicans would have to do this to earn my vote

we haven't declared war since WWII
The war on drugs and black Americans was declared. :usure:

The war on Terror was announced and understood by the world as a declaration.

The war on the poor has been a cold war since the 70's and cold wars aren't usually declared.

Its not even an option worth considering if your talking about pure partisans because people won't vote for a light version of their belief and will go with the party that represents them more closely

The only people who are really at grab are people who don't really understand the philoshical basis of a tilting of market reliance vs government rules regulations, and institutions

Superficial voters who vote based on tradition or superficial beliefs like democrats are for the poor or republicans are for freedom can be swayed with education

But neither party is truly consistent in their beliefs when in power so it all just becomes a muddled swath of ideas that correspond more to the current economic and cultural climate of the times

George Bush ran on a near Ron Paul foreign policy but reality made him do what he felt was necessary....power has a way of making people make measured decisions that are less ideological(forgot the word to describe this type of decision making)
