THE GOVERNMENT IS ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE, BROTHER! THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT WAS SIGNED BY AN ELECTED OFFICIAL, DUDE! THE NINETEENTH AMENDMENT WAS SIGNED BY AN ELECTED OFFICIAL, MEAN GENE! THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION WAS ISSUED BY AN ELECTED OFFICIAL, CHAMP!

HOLLYWOOD WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD EVEN ATTEMPT TO ANSWER HIS QUESTION, BROTHER! NAME A YEAR WHEN THIS COUNTRY WAS LESS "DESTROYED," TOUGH GUY!

Ya i said the people forced the govt. The elected officals did it cuz WE wanted it. You acting like they did it out of the kindness of there hearts.
:pachaha:

All those things you mentioned are social issues. As time went by, people accepted new ideas. Big government has evolved in another way.

Im talking about goverment interference in our lives. The taxes we pay. The laws being enacted on us by our govt. shyt like the PATRIOT ACT. Things they are trying like SOPA and things of that ilk. How did they take so many of our rights, normal, working people, which is the majority of the country, have no power to change things. Every time I come into HL someone got a thread on a new law they trying to pass that is no where in the media. What does that tell you. Our political system is a dog and pony show for us to marvel at. Be it dem or repub, the ppl who are running for office and getting elected are rich, wealthy elites.

Im not rich and my taxes are fukking outrageous. Tired of losing 40% of my fukking check before I even get it. Every thing we get is taxed to death and we have no way to fight it. Taxes and surcharges. No accountability by the govt were our money is going.

The two party system is terrible and deads any attempt at change.
The fact you cannot see this lets me no know you are not nearly as smart as you are trying to be. BROTHER.

Stop tough talking and name calling, your looking very silly, friend.
Keep giving your song and dance for these faux intellectuals.
You and I know whats going on here :jawalrus:

Hogan BROTHER, try harder at this man. I know you got something better than that weak sauce you coming in here with.

Dont let me down HULK

Like i said, be it repub or dem, at the end of the day, my vote is going for a rich, wealthy elite. Who run in the same circles with each other. Not much of a choice is it.

Are you implying that while some things have gotten better, that others have not become worse?

We have people still dying in custody without ever being charged with a crime. We have people being locked up for bullshyt drug crimes so we can have cheap prison labor. The government and business interests of this country are working hand and hand to demolish legal protests. We have American Muslims still being spied on for no other reason than being Muslim. We have the TSA making 89 year olds take off their adult diapers to be stripped searched. We have Americans, mainly Black Americans, now having to deal with voting issues at the polls. We have a Justice Department that did not prosecute known Wall Street criminals and torture suspects. We have a drone programming operating outside of legal sovereignty that has killed 200 children in the last 10 years. Our tuition rates are obscenely high. Our standing in the world in terms of education is falling dramatically in key areas. We have to import STEM fields. The labor movement is on the brink of collapse.

Oh, and this now:

We made progress in a lot of areas, and they were just replaced with other obstacles, a couple of which are directly a result of the Obama Administration's governance.

But I won't ruin the circlejerk here.

I thought this was gonna be about Obama re-signing the NDAA.
And Grimace makes a good point about the $250,000 being a mantra of Obama's for the last billion years yet the deal moved that line up to $400,000 and everyone acts like he made a brilliant move.

These people will cosign him on whatever he does. It's pointless to even argue with them.

If you wait until 2017 when we might have a Republican in office, you'll see a lot of people "wake" up to this bullshyt.

Higher Learning - where people like @Type Username Here come in and stand on their soap box that was only tangentially referring to what anyone was saying or while misrepresenting it while making general propositions that anyone can agree with in principle and thus somehow gaining the moral high ground.
--> No, I'm sorry I have to elaborate on this. How can someone like TUH consistently call Obama a poor negotiator when in every single debate TUH is obstinate in his position? His negotiating strategy equates to not moving from ANY position he stands on. It's like you guys fail to realize that if in Congress, TUH would be the left-wing equivalent of someone in the Tea Party on every issue but guns, where he'd be nearly the ring wing equivalent. All the while using the constitution for the support of his position like that document hasn't been interpreted however the courts feel like interpreting it at the time, that's why it's flawed. It's scope can be decided by 5 people at any given juncture in history, and you cannot rely on it to do the right thing regardless of society's perspective like the Warren Court did. It's more likely to maintain the status quo contrary to public opinion like the Rehnquist and Roberts courts. BERNIE SANDERS supported this bill, I mean goodness.

Higher Learning - where anyone who does not come down hard on Obama on everything is an apologist. Sponsored by TUH, @Jello Biafra and the good folks at consistently contrarian records.

Higher Learning - where everything the government does is entirely wrong, and anything the government does that is right is credited specifically, and only to the people, despite the fact that as numerous junctures in history, the government has acted completely contrary to what the people want (for the good and bad of the country). @TruStyle, the Civil Rights Bill in its design is an example of that in many ways.

Higher Learning - where Cenk Uygar, a master of hyperbole, is somehow someone who should be regarded as anything more than a liberal hack (supposedly :obamaword:smile: who will never be satisfied with anything.

Higher Learning - where Hulk Hogan is the best poster :salute:

Did I say something factually incorrect in my reply to Hogan? Feel free to correct me. Hogan's line of argument was laughable: "Don't complain, it was worse back then."

You also stand your ground and position without ANY compromise when it comes to the Obama Administration, so miss me with that nonsense.

You get your feelings hurt when someone points out his fukking bullshyt.

AHAHAHAHAHA, go ahead and provide an example. We had that HUGE ass debate on this where most people agreed with me. So I'm not quite sure where you get this idea from. No one got their feelings hurt, but you, and then spent the better part of a month and a half cussing and swearing at everyone and then telling me that I supported the Democrats just because I was black. Then you fell back. Hogan's argument was not, "don't complain, the worst was worst back then." That could be inferred, but I deal with definites, what can definitely be inferred is "overall the country is not worse off then it was in preceding decades." What's hilarious is that every time I've criticized the Obama administration you are the FIRST person to dap up my posts. Literally.

When I told people to stop defending Obama on marijuana, NDAA, etc. You were right there because it aligned with your views. The best part is that now I get to ask you the question that I asked you all of last year and you backed down on time and time again. What policies of the Obama administration have I backed up regardless? I'm waiting. And I've been waiting on you for 6 months now.

You are the master of "state abstract statement that sounds good in principle" but doesn't and hasn't ever worked in practice, and when someone comes at your head about it you call them unprincipled. It's like you forget that the Constitution and framers you're so infatuated with got to that constitution and to this point through arguing and compromise and that they all had different ideas of democracy. If any of them were as obstinate as you are, the nation would have failed. That document you love is a result of people who looked at negotiating opposite of how you do. And maybe that's your problem, you looked more at the final product than the process. I'm sorry, but a man who stands so firmly to every one of his principles that he will refuse to compromise for the better of the country, that guy has no place in government. It's why a guy like Cheney who for three decades before being Bush's VP believed in the extension of the power of the executive, had no business in that position.

If Obama does not sign this bill then unemployment benefits expire for the millions on it, and then what? Tell me. Wait, don't tell me. Didn't our last debate boil down to you admitting that you will stand on your principle despite the fact that doing so at the negotiating table would hurts millions and the less well-off in the process, all to release the stench from government? I don't defend the Obama administration, I defend what is best for the people at the bottom and I always do. Who does marijuana arrests affect most? Think about it and then think about why I'm against it. I'm consistently for the underdog, I'm just not obstinate in how we get there.

That's why I find it disingenuous for to make a post where you say, "but but but but" we've gotten worse in all these other areas.
