4K 120 will be fairly common with Xbox Series X games. The big AAA titles probably wont support it, they will choose fancy graphics over 120fps. But the smaller titles or multiplayer focused titles will consider it as an option.

But all i get out of this announcement is that 30fps games are a thing of the past.

Brehs might want to plan on upgrading their TV or getting a 120/144HZ freesync monitor later this year.

Are HDMI 2.1 OLED TV's even really dropping yet? I haven't been keeping up the last year.

I love my current tv but I'm 100 percent upgrading

I have a Sony X900E from 2017. It cant do 1080p/120 through HDMI 2.0. If you bought a quality TV in the last few years, you can probably do 1080p 120. Mid to high end TVs have shipped with 120Hz displays for a few years now only being limited by lack of HDMI 2.1 standard.

I am in no rush to upgrade, waiting for a Sony TV with VRR and low input lag, so probably next year.

I honestly think Microsoft is gonna lose money big time on the XSX. The numbers just don't add up for a console coming out later this year. shyt's more powerful than a 2080 Super and almost as powerful as a 2080 Ti. Plus a 1 TB Nvme ssd. This ain't gonna be no $499 console either, you might end up paying more than I paid for my GPU, nikka

Microsoft has the funds to lose as they lost every gen since they came into the industry. I just think this division for them is a tax write off and a subscription garner. Microsoft can buy Take Two and EA if they want

It will be some weird ass side scroller with little to nothing going on on the screen

Didn’t they show gears running on this thing (a current gen title) ... did that hit 120 ?

No.

yikes if indie dev's getting 4k 120 out the gate :wow:

You got indie games that run native 4k on the ps4 pro, doesn't mean anything, the game probably isn't that demanding

the series X could run the Witcher 3 at 4k 120 I would be impressed and thats a last gen game

people setting themselves up for disappointment

I mean I can run Arkham City at 4k 120fps, and it will look clean and sharp, Arkham Knight on the ps4 base model still has better graphics even at the lower frames and resolution

all those metrics mean nothing its about the games graphical assets
