Looks like you were very wrong.
As I said, I understand the racial elements of the case. I get that we as Black people are less likely to actually receive justice in the courts, especially when the accused is non-Black (and especially if they are white). I know that this will begin a process of the media and public putting her on trial for her own murder, I get that. But I was merely speaking from a by the book legal perspective. I fail to see how y'all were saying she suddenly doesn't have a case because she had a higher blood alcohol level than the legal limit.
I think everyone is sour off of the Trayvon verdict and has already lost hope on this one, but I think its premature. As innocent as Trayvon was in his situation was, Renisha is even more blameless. My opinion is that this is even more in the favor of the defendants. While Trayvon actually was in a physical altercation with his eventual murderer, Renisha McBride was not. She was literally outside at his door step, and knocked on his door. There is nowhere that I know of in the United States where that is a violation of the law, even if you do so while drunk.
