Last season the Tigers acquired Doug Fister at the trade deadline and pulled away from the pack in the American League Central, and after taking over first place with a sweep of the White Sox this weekend the Tigers have made another move for a pitcher, acquiring Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante from the Marlins in return for Jacob Turner, CBSSports.com insider Danny Knobler confirms.

Tigers deal to win now.......pay the price later......Turner and Brantly will make them pay a price later.....Marlins win trade long term

:upsetfavre:

Thought we could get more for Turner,at least he didn't trade Castellanos.

Win now move, can't be that mad.If Ryan Raburn is released because of this i'll jump for joy.

It won't. Dombrowski's track record of draft picks with Detroit is terrible outside of Verlander and Granderson.

Happy to have Sanchez with the Olde English D on his chest. :win:

There's no such thing when you're a fan of The Marlins. New stadium, new location, new uniforms, new colors, spending money on the team and not even a full year playing together and they plan on blowing up the team? :heh:

Can you stop kickin a nicca while he is down :damn:

Yall niccas are ruthless :pachaha:

This is a great move for the Marlins.

Looks like the Fish got themselves a potential frontline starter who is ready now in Turner, a potential starter in a few years in Flynn to throw into the pile with Jose fernandez, Mason Hope and Chad James in an organization that is short in the farm. I like that haul for a player (Anibal) that maybe isn't even back next year and a stop gap at second (Infante).

Plus, Rob Brantly probably becomes the best catcher in our system and Buck's replacement barring a FA pickup.

Bonifacio's place is also on the infield so that makes sense as well.

Anibal's a really good player though, so Detroit got a No. 2-3 starter down the stretch
