More :martin: I think. I enjoyed the game but I won't fight any breh that hates the game. Poorly handled civil rights allegory, writing made me think the storyboard was cac'd out.
I appreciate the honesty breh but I think Ima pass. :francis:

I slept hard because of the reviews and how much I did not like Heavy Rain.

I love the Telltale Walking Dead series and this game is what those games could've evolved into.

After watching my guy itsreals85 play that other one, with that Ellen chick from the Juno movie and then this, it looked good.

After like a year of watching him play this and watching other scenarios, I had to finally cop it.

I just finished the Eden Club episode and :wow:

The world building is so great, I want a Detriot 2.

The concept of the story is wasted, because it's so one sided and I'm one to side with the idea that andriods ain't human anytime I see it in games.

But, the graphics are dope, the animations are top notch. And this is the apex of that style of gaming.

It makes the first TWD look so dated (mechanics wise --- it's one of the best stories I've ever played in a video game).

I hope they actually explain why the deviants have full emotions--even down to being lovers

Of course, I've watched until the ending. But, I played the demo like four times and went back through three of the episodes to see the other choices (only did and redo AND save once).

Dope game so far.

At this point (just did the "Harriet Tubman House") the problem is that it's melodramatic and trying to be too deep for one game.

That argument with the son was too damn forced and there's plenty of subtexts, already, to show you how dangerous what the mother is doing is.

Kara's chapters are the best because of the mundane choices you have to make to get through some real ass situation.

I love the detective (Batman stan) angle for Conner, but, Markus' parts are too "video gamey" for this world. Son is a T2 action hero Nat Turner.

Again, this game is a technical marvel, but, the story is falling in Heavy Rain terrortority.

I wanted to shape the narrative, this is how I did it for each character.

Marcus; Started of loving humans and all things, hell he endured suffering from humans and never retaliated. That is until his owner died and his owners son blamed him and he was killed and thrown out like garbage. Upon his resurrection and return he changed his stance and believed in freedom for all Androids no matter the consequence. He was an amazing fighter that was the deadliest in the rebellion along with his general and right hand North. He Defeats the humans and takes Detroit as a city of Androids

Connor: He started of as a cold hearted anything to accomplish my mission Android. He was Cyberlife assassin and it was usually best for deviants to turn the other way when Connor was headed their way. He killed multiple deviants and believed they were just experiencing a flaw in their system. Along the way through his team up with LT Hank he starts to experience emotions and forms a bond that he tries to deny. He starts to have an inner struggle with himself and it isn’t until after he meets Kamski and goes through the Kamski test that the realisation that perhaps there is more to deviancy than he believed. He later joins Marcus and sacrifices himself at Cyberlife not before going ham and taking out multiple guards as well as his 2.0 and providing Marcus with his army.

Kara: She was the heart of the story and her relationship was Alice, she started of as naive but grew to distrust and be overly cautious after her experience with Zlatko. She builds a family with Alice and Luther in the end they lose Luther but her and Alice make it across the border. Although if Kara survives is open for interpretation as she went in the ice cold water to push the boat and most of her system shut down. She managed to make it to the other side and carried Alice to Shore.

That’s is how it mostly played out for me except for a few things....

Conner survived the ordeal and became one of Marcus’ closest comrades

Kara lived despite the water damage but Alice got shot and later died :mjcry:

At first I made Marcus go to war with the humans since I wanted to get my point across :birdman: But after the many losses we had from that battle (Marcus and North and my other close comrades barely survived that conflict) and the amount of L’s Marcus damn near took in the hideout when it got invaded, I decided to go the pacifist route. I didn’t negotiate with the FBI agent in the end because I never trusted that nikka and when the National Guard launched a dirty ass assault on us, I only had Marcus engage in non-lethal self-defense. When they had us all surrounded, I made them all sing. I felt like one single wrong action and all that was left of us would’ve been scrap heap :ld:

This game definitely made my personal Top 10 of the current generation.

Still playing but put this into my watch later queue. Dude acting like the game is a goat

What didn't you like about Heavy Rain?
I usually play it while blazed so my perception of the gameplay and story might be skewed. It's weird and convoluted to me but that fits with the mental issues the main character is having
