Five takedowns.. Jones is GOAT...

Heads to Sherdog to see all the butt hurt crackers who stay salty cause Jones won... No doubt they'll hop off the Cormier bandwagon and ride Gus's nuts now:laff:

Breh, the sherdoggers were at the gas station after the first round of this fight when it became apparent that Bones was going to win.

meh he was willing to fight back in august before jones got injured, the extra time could have only helped it. but it could be that too he didn't look explosive at all

it was probably the cardio imho. He's getting up there in age, coming from HW (land of the bad cardio) and has a difficult weight cut on top of that. Jon's activity level, grit in the clinch and the bodyshots he was working sapped all of cormier's energy.

of course not, he was facing a guy who is more athletic then him

of course cormier looks explosive against guys like bigfoot and the other stiffs at hw hes fought

Gus is a great boxer with excellent movement for his size. Jones' fight today with DC shows he can't strike with great boxers. He'd rather throw kicks, clinch and wrestle. Jones won't be able to clinch Gus like he did DC. He'll eat combos all day if he doesn't improve his boxing.

True. But even while Jones was getting the shyt boxed out of him, he still won using elbows and high kicks. I just think if Gus was going to beat him, that was the time.

He probably has the most power in the division but hes flat footed and slow as hell. Hes not beating Gus

this is the 2nd craziest thing you've said.

Rumble is slow?

you don't know what you're talking about. Dude had some quick hands in lower weight classes - none of the light heavyweights (DC, Gus, JOnes) have faster, powerful hands or kicks

Cormier's plan was to get inside Jones' reach and fight. Which he did for the first 3 rounds before he got gassed and stopped moving. While I think that Jones' initial takedown might have aggravated the injury a bit, I attributed Cormier's lack of movement more to a lack of fitness than to his injury.

Thing is jones keeps nikkaz at a distance so if you ain't knocked him out in the first round you are hardly doing it in the them later rounds
Rumble strike game is crazy and know that he's up to his natural weight he looks strong as hell.

Jones will have tougher time with Rumble strike game, the way Jones ducks his head and makes himself smaller (I believe he did that to shield himself from DC overhand strikes) would get him in trouble against Rumble.

Jones would have the advantage inside and in the clinch tho.
