Orlando lowkey has a core, they just need a defensive 4 to be future contenders. While Sacramento has had awful management and ownership. Where's all the outrage directed to the T-Wolves, who have been a 30 win team for damn near a decade?

I'm just saying tanking don't work if that's all you do, especially the way the Sixers are doing it. Has any team done it the way the Sixers are doing it, by adding one player a year to a roster filled with end of the bench/NBA d-leaguers?

I don't know, but it's not like Philly is screwed if they can't get that franchise talent through the draft.
Okafor is a sure thing 20/10 big, him and Nerlens complement each other(Okafor brings offense and Nerlens brings defense), while they have enough assets to get Paul George 1-2 years from now.

They have enough to get two to three superstars their cap is crazy. 4 largest media market and the new state of the art practice facility as well.

But the problem is you have to get someone to come to the city. I'm from Philly and hope the Sixers can succeed, but realistically they've shyt away any goodwill because of how they've gone about this. Agents don't want their clients going there when there are other teams that will have a watchable and more successful product. No A-E list free agent is going to sign with the Sixers unless every single team happens to be over the cap.

The idea is that they'll eventually draft a player or group of players so talented that guys will want to come play with them.

So far they haven't struck lottery gold, which is the whole point of this strategy. They'll be back in the lotto next season at least. If Noel/Okafor don't show chemistry, Hinkie will probably trade the lesser prospect for another lottery pick. If they do he'll probably have one of them fake an injury so they don't win too many games this season. Who knows when we'll see Embid on the floor.

The point about how long this leash goes for is an interesting one. Noel is the next guy up to get paid. Trading MCW bought Hinkie an extra year on that leash and I could see him doing the same with Noel too to keep this going until he has a group that he is confident in building around.

Personally I hope they become what the Clippers were before Blake Griffin showed up. Those teams had high draft picks every year too.

:wtf: you trollin with that list of players and years.

those are the years guys GRADUATED high school. not when they came out in the draft. I was trying to show that some years the graduating class produces no stars (see 2005 and 2012). Some years just one star (2010 and 2011). and other years 3-4 stars (2006 and 2007).

the graduating classes of 2010-2012 have been terrible at producing superstar nba talent. 2015 looks more like those years than 2013 or 2014.

No it wasn't :heh:

He barely shot over 40% from the field, shot 26% from three and below 70% from the FT line and averaged a little under 4 turnovers per game which would rank in the top 5 highest in the league

Efficient would be the last word to describe him. Some of it could be attributed to the lack of talent he played with in Philly but to the same token, if he played on a competent team he would have nowhere near as high of a usage rate as he does.

I haven't been following the Sixers really but the thing is that they seem to just be stacking up "assets" and "prospects" and then trading players away to...stack more "assets" and "prospects". At some point you gotta go with you have and actually start winning some games, otherwise this can go on forever. Plus like someone said how exactly do all these young players react motivation-wise to losing all the time and seeing that no emphasis is put on winning?

Kings 2018 top ten protected first
Rights to switch 1st round picks with Kings in both 2017 and 2019

For

The rights to Vasilijie Micic?!?

Don' think the bolded is accurate. Kings owe a First rounder to the Bulls that's top-10 protected for the next two seasons. Unless the Kings get the 11th or higher pick next season, the switching 1st rounders wouldn't start until 2019.

Not true:

Our first round pick with Kings is not protected so if they get 1st pick in draft it is ours.
