Wroten was the best guard in the league before his ACL and was in the top 3 in driving to the lane and getting fouls. So you have Covington, Wroten, Oakfor, Noel and Grant who turned into a defensive stud who can shoot the 3. It takes time but you can see what he is trying to do.

He can't shoot but I like Elfrid.....great floor general, good defensively.....

I don't like PG's who can't shoot but he would look good on this team.

:russ: This team had Ish Smith looking decent...I just imagine what Russell or Mudiay could do.

Come on Hinkie just go ahead and send Okafor and the Lakers 1st rd pick back is that the hold up you know ya'll don't really want Jah...Just didn't want to be outsmarted by the Lakers. :manny:

That's really what it comes down to.....Russ was their guy and they didn't do everything to get him.

Trading the extra pick (Lakers pick) and assets for Russell is the antithesis of what the Sixers do......but at some point you have to put your chips in the middle of the table and go all in......now would have been the time.

I get it tho.....Hinkie was just stubborn and stuck to the script or rather the #process

The analogy I like to say is this.....if you would have told the 92 Magic they could have Shaq, Chris Webber and Glen Robinson in b2b2b drafts but Shaq might not ever play I'm sure they take that.....

The dedication to the spin is amazing. The sixers should hire the writer to help that embarrassing franchise with it's PR

Maybe you'd have something if all these picks ...
2016 Sixers 1st
2016 Lakers 1st (top-3 protected 2016 and 2017, unprotected in 2018)
2016 Miami 1st (top-10 protected in 2016, unprotected in 2017)
2016 OKC 1st (top-15 protected in 2016)
... were actually going to be made next year (one actually IN the top-three; one IN the top-10; one IN the top-15 ... plus the 76ers pick, which is almost guaranteed to be top-five). But they're not.

All those protected picks :shaq2:

It's a horrible tank job, /thread :camby:

doubt the lakers accept that. i don't think they plan on sucking again next year. a mid-1st round pick in a weak draft is not worth a player of Russell's caliber.

plus there aren't many talented players in next years draft. I woulda tried to trade some of those for players in 2015 or already in the league.

even Chad Ford can't hype up this upcoming class: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draf...3148621/nba-ben-simmons-star-2016-draft-class

I know we've had this back and forth before, but I hope you understand why everyone is saying next years class is weak. Folks like Chad Ford are saying its weak because the 2015 senior class has been outperformed the last few years by the 2016 class. All the best players in the country last year were underclassmen. Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles, Dennis Smith Jr., and DeAndre Ayton (sophomore). These are the names people named when aked who the best players in high school were last year. Ben Simmons (the presumptive #1 in the 2015 class) was considered only the 6th best player in high school.

These kids are all playing each other in AAU settings like the EYBL. Its one thing for the 2014 class (Towns, Okafor, Mudiay) to have been outshined by the 2013 class (Wiggins, Parker, and Randle). 2013 was a year older. It makes sense for the upperclassmen to be more developed and more highly touted than the class below them. But if the class below you is dominating the AAU circuit, then that doesn't bode well for your class. 2014 showed they were as good as 2013 once they reached the same age. 2015 is getting outshined by kids younger than them already.

thats why everyone is so down on the talent coming next year. the guys below them are already better than them.
