Well this is some bullshyt. Slipped on ice about 2 weeks ago and tore my ACL, MCL, & PCL on my left knee. My foot slipped then hit dry ground and it planted while the rest of me kept falling. Surgery was last Thursday and I'm still recuperating in the hospital. It wouldn't be so bad except I moved to Germany last August so I'm over doing it with no family and a minimal support system. I got a couple chicks that will come by when they can and help me out but it's mostly gonna be just me.

Doc says I'm looking at 6-9 months of rehab and because the surgeons that did the operation are some of the best in the country I can look forward to the shorter end of rehab as long as I stick with the PT.

I've never felt pain like this before. No lie there were a couple times I just broke down and cried because the shyt hurt so bad. Walking on crutches is a bytch but I'm getting used to them and luckily the pain is subsiding a lot. Gotta really keep my diet in check so I'm not Larry Holmes status by the time it's all said and done.

Take your post op rehab and especially PT serious.

You’ll feel better in increments. Being able to straighten that leg will be :blessed: hang in there

Just DO NOT rush or skip out on rehabbing because you start to feel like yourself again in 10 weeks or so because those ligaments and tendons need that 6-9 months to fully heal.

You can and you will bounce back from this, speaking firsthand

Sorry to hear that. I haven’t gone through it but my wife did twice with the same knee. She tore her all the second time during rehab. :francis:

A little advice. Stay off sugar. Sugar will slow down your recovery.

Good luck.
Damn during rehab?
No sugar? That's a new one to me but ok. And thanks.

How soon. Will I be able to walk without crutches? I know everyone is different but is there a general timeframe I can have in mind?

I was off crutches in about 9 weeks, it wasn’t as brutal as I expected it to be although it can mess with you not being as self reliant as you’re used to being at times.

Yeah, during rehab. The acl popped off the screw or whatever. She’s needed a second surgery and a second rehab for one injury.

:mjcry:

Happened to a buddy of mine. His body rejected the graft and a screw popped loose. He was almost 4 months post op. Had to start all over again too surgery and all. She doing ok now?

I know it has to be rare(don't tell me if it isn't) but damn I wish I hadn't read those posts.

Uh, her knee slips out from time to time. She has no miniscus so that’s part of the problem. Her leg gets inflamed also. But her biggest problem is she’s over weight. If she lost weight most problems would go away.
