He looks like he'll be better offensively for sure. Not just a shooter. He's more athletic, better ball handler, better slasher, and already knows how to play off of the ball.

I'm not seeing 80% of what you posted in any of the games - but I'm a patient fan. We'll see.
Dunleavy avg 11 ppg, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists last year shooting 38% from 3 and upped all those figures in the playoffs , in a year where he was suppose to be a backup. And plays better defense than a Kyle Korver or Boozer - so there's your bar.

there's a reason that dunleavy only played 20 minutes last night. its cuz there are other options available better than him that should be eating into his playing time.

mcdermott has the potential to be much better than dunleavy. which means he should play more given he's 22 and dunleavy is 34. and I don't think the margin of difference between the two at this point is negligable.
also since MDJ ain't gonna be here next year, I'd prefer the likes of snell, mcdermott and mirotic getting more playing time over him since he's old, and is not gonna get any better at this point.
Are people in here really saying that dun is better the doggie? From the limited minutes hes played, he looks like an all around better player, esp on the offensive side because both are ass defensively. But dougie shows he can handle the ball, shot from anywhere, and get to the foul line.

We aren't talking about potential RIGHT NOW mcdermott is not a starting sf he may be next year or later in this season but he shouldn't be starting over dunleavy now.You can't be watching these games if you think otherwise
Mirotic is a stretch 4 not a 3,snell possibly but until he can hit shots consistently he shouldn't be getting tick.Dunleavy shooting 40% from 3's and can at least stay in front of most people he guards.
He is being using as Korver when really that isn't that type of guy. His offensive arsenal is too diverse.
Not right now, but I initially asked if yal thought he could get in the starting lineup by the end of the year...

Yea it's possible but realistically I think next year mcdermott will start at the 3.This season he can play in late game situations wit the starters or eventually earn more playing time he's only played 4 games in the nba it's gonna take him time
But right now he should not be starting.That's why I asked what are the better options than dunleavy? There are NONE.

The real answer is getting another wing here. Dunleavy is going to be food when we play cleveland or washington. Those teams are going to send they offense through whoever he guarding.
At least with dougie fresh he a more potent offensive option with his ability to get to the basket and shoot it from deep whereas dunleavy is only a outside threat and closing on him hard pretty much takes him out the game
But we need another wing that can either play lock down defense and hit some 3s or is such a great offensive option that what we lose defensively gets made up for on offense. Dougie just too young for that role. Why yell at dougie foe missing clutch 3s in game 6 of the ecf, when the truth is he don't need to be in that position in the 1st place.
But this is team don't do shyt. So I again suggest we start Kirk
Brooks is running the 2nd unit beautifully and kirk can guard most 2s. Dunleavy not a bum he just not a starter. He would be a good servicable wing off the bench

Doug wont ever be as prolific as a shooter as Korver, but he has already shown the ability to put the ball on the floor and make plays that way
he needs to do a better job getting open on screens though, Korver was a god at that (it might just be beacuse hes quicker than Doug though)

McBuckets will be a better offensive player than Korver and Dunleavy. He just needs the minutes
