I remember nikkas was HEATED that Taj got that contract.... Sometimes it's like we are systematically programmed to see the worst in everything .

Anyway, me all the way back in Nov 2012:

Today is also the deadline to get an extension done with Taj. Where do you guys stand on this? There's reports that the Bulls are holding firm to a four year, 32 million dollar offer and I honestly think that's more than fair for Taj (and that's not me talking from a fan perspective) even tho if he hits the open market, he'll probably command that 10 mill that he's going for. My POV is simple; if you think this is the guy that can and will eventually supplant Boozer, I'd put some performance based incentives that would allow him to get closer to the figure he's seeking.

Giving Jimmy the Taj deal isn't so bad. You'd get incentives to make you try harder. Taj is earning that bonus cash. :pachaha: I think 8-9 million is good enough for Butler. :yeshrug:

I agree its good for butler, but you got teams like the jazz fukking up the game when they do this:

The Utah Jazz and Alec Burks have reached agreement on a four-year, $42 million contract extension.

Burks' deal could climb to $45 million with reachable incentive clauses.

Burks, 23, is the third young Jazz player, along with Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors, to reach a four-year extension with the franchise.

Burks has developed into one of the NBA's better young shooting guards.

Chicago Bulls have offered Jimmy Butler a Player Option in their negotiations. Bulls dislike offering player options. (Source: K.C. Johnson)

Just saw someone Steve Kyler tweet the structure is more important now than the money.
