Let's cut the shyt. You want to get on me for calling out Thibs and his inept offensive strategy and play calling saying I'm completely blaming him... but then going to turn around and try and say he's the reason why Jimmy turned into a beast this season offensively? Jimmy put in the work, it was his contract year, and he's made an improvement on his 1 on 1 game. He's went out all year and made plays by himself, not because of Thibs' offense. Jimmy improving his jump shot and scoring doesn't have a damn thing to do with Tom Thibodeau
Of course Jimmy is most responsible for his offensive improvement, just like every other single player that has every played in the league. But you can't look at player progression like that in a vacuum - all the good habits that Thibs' system/environment instills in players and the incentives they're given to earn a spot (not rewarding or allowing players to get away with subpar play) has gone a long way to helping Butler improve his game.
Jimmy is a hardworking dude off the jump, but would he be the player he is now if he done came up with a coach and system that played him 30+ minutes as his rookie, while not trying to cull bad habits that not only he but every player in the team was getting away with (not moving the ball, not moving without it, fighting over possessions, more concerned with looking out for himself/padding his own stats/not looking to sacrifice for the team, missed defensive rotations, inconsistent effort, being around players that are simply out just to get theirs, lack of team unity etc etc)?
Nah.
Gasol played for D'antoni his last few years in LA. Plenty of people said that he wasn't finished and that it was a matter of him not fitting into his system to be used properly. lol @ revived his career. Man, please.
Look you don't need to tell me about Gasol. I have been defending him for the last two-three seasons. I knew he still could be a useful player if he got the fukk outta LA. It was less about not fitting into 'Antoni's system and more the fact he lost all trust in the Lakers FO after they tried to trade him numerous times. He only stayed as long as he did because of Kobe. Thibs did revive Gasol's career, because he provided a stable and winning environment that he could thrive in.
Yeah, now lets dismiss the fact that you're wrong with Snell and that I'm right. When he's played he's been fine.
Wrong? He hasn't proven shyt yet. Seriously what type of shyt is you on?
He hasn't played enough or shown enough consistently to even suggest he deserves a place in a title-contending rotation. Dude looked like a player that didn't belong in the league in the back end of the season when he got consistent minutes. If he is that type of player that you suggest he is, he certainly isn't that right now.
What's funny is you're telling me that Snell has no business being a rotational player for this team, yet Kirk Hinrich is right now, and Kirk's PER 36 numbers and percentages are worse than Snell's. Do you care to explain why the great Tom Thibodeau is playing a fringe NBA player with below adequate numbers so much?
Stop going on PER 36, you can't magically microwave a player's numbers off low minutes because they won't be the same when they have to take on more responsibility, workload, more minutes against starters, higher occurrence of their weaknesses being exposed etc etc.
And Hinrich shouldn't even be on this team. Which is mostly the FO's fault because they won't give Thibs players with talent so then he's forced to get back players that he believes are tried-and-true and that know his system - without picking up some scrub that he'll have to initiate into the team and wait for them to become acclimated in a season-long process that might not even work, sacrificing what he believes is wasted opportunity in building chemistry in a team that's trying to compete for a championship.
Most of all these problems yall have with Thibs playing the wrong lineups and player minutes are down to lack of proper personnel. You can't expect to give him materials that are not fit to build a house, and then blame him for not building a proper house.
Niko was -23
He came in the game the Bulls were down 3 (they even cut it to 1 in the 3rd) and when he got out the game the Bulls were down 14.
Make sense to me why Kirk should play over Snell for these many minutes when Kirk at this point is a 'D-Leaguer' by your own standards?
I already covered the buckets that Niko was directly/indirectly responsible for. Kirk and Snell shouldn't even be in the rotation.
And I explained to you why he should of touched the ball.
By your logic, Kyrie shouldn't get touches because he's banged up too right?
Kyrie's and Rose's situation is different but yes Kyrie shouldn't have been playing the minutes he has been and he shouldn't be out there just to be a decoy. But I can't blame Blatt too much for that; his hands are tied - Kyrie is telling him he can't/won't sit on the bench - Blatt won't sit him even when Kyrie has been a detriment to the team in the Cavs losses because he's in a position where he has to walk on egg shells in fears he might upset the balance of the team or make Brons upset.
He benches Kyrie/cuts down his touches and the Cavs lose this series - Blatt would be fired the next day.
